Terrific short video by St. Gabriel of Georgia yesterday-inspiring and convicting-the Holy Spirit used this Saint to make me an inquirer into orthodoxy.

There are some finer shades of meaning in this lesson. The holy elder must have been disturbed because the beggar actually needed the 1000 drachmas for his loved ones. Otherwise, St. Paul has said that if you will not work, neither will you eat. This can't be taken literally, to give to every panhandling drainbow junkie all that he asks. It is more about the fact that God makes His will known through the loss of prayer. And obviously, there are cases when our neighbors have hatred for us, but it is because we pray and do good works. This is also a real situation for some people. But to aggrieve the brother implies that he is a fellow Christian who is wounded in his heart by some real slight done to him which comes from our sinful will. As with everything, the one who first seeks the Kingdom of Heaven within, will be given guidance in undertanding what God desires for him to do in every situation.

Beautiful video, love is very powerful. Satan can’t love and when we do love others we are doing something evil cannot do.
