The fact that the huge orc with a massive sword has only 1 body point, but the skelington and the pathetic goblin also have 1 body point is crazy, so my orcs have 2 body points.

That was sure a nail biter!! I was on the edge of my seat the rest of the dungeon after the first wolf battle. The attendants were running into the room with the treasure chest and that is where they got captured!
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Жыл бұрын
The second confrontation with the first wolf I thought was pretty exciting. I could picture how that went down as Ethan valiantly defended the attendants. The flavour text for the hidden room just made me laugh because it said the attendants had passed through there. I think sometimes fluff writers need to be careful with how they phrase things, because in a more complicated game I could see heroes spending far too long in that room trying to figure out how someone passed "through" it.

I think you probably could use the cloak to move with the attendants . Logic 1 use to escape the wolf, 1 use to bypass the trap both ways, possibly risking death skipping the second wolf trap. 3 potential uses on the adventure you find it

The cloak is a random loot drop from the treasure deck. The adventure isn't designed around the assumption you have the cloak in your possession.

@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring 5 ай бұрын
The app is pretty good. It's just a way of being able to play solo without spoiling any of the surprises the dungeon has. It's not a particularly intrusive app - you drag your miniature on the screen, and if you are allowed to move to the destination space (in other words, you don't fall down a pit trap or anything on the way), then you just pick up your miniature and put it on the corresponding space of the board. It's not as good as playing against a real Zargon player, but it makes the game a fully realised solo experience.
@EriktheRed2023
@EriktheRed2023 Жыл бұрын
The trap before the door: You could have used the cloak again and gone through the walls instead. But then you'd be in there with a wolf, of course...
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Жыл бұрын
But I didn’t know if the room in between was grey or not and the app instantly kills you in a greyed out room if you take your finger off the screen. It’s not worth the risk. Also, keep in mind that cloak was a random loot drop. The mission isn’t designed with the expectation that you have it, so I think that trap placement is very unfair (which isn’t anything new, really).
@EriktheRed2023
@EriktheRed2023 Жыл бұрын
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Oh, I see. I thought it was only if you end our movement in a greyed out room that you die. That's how we play Pass Through Rock, but it seems we're wrong.
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Жыл бұрын
@@EriktheRed2023 It’s a glitch in the app. As soon as you take your finger off the screen it assumes your move is over and therefore kills you. If I’m Zargon I don’t play that way - I will tell the player the room is a wall and let them carry on moving (if they can).
@jeanfoutre3620
@jeanfoutre3620 Жыл бұрын
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring yes that app glitch is soo annoying. Unless you have to designate your final landing square before your move... in which case, yeah you shouldn't take your finger off the screen too early... but that's not how i see it. I thought you could see as you go the contents of every room you enter and choose to continue or stop as you go.... but no. Anyways... Wouldn't mind a rules lawyer on that point...
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Жыл бұрын
As far as I'm concerned there's no question of the intent of the rule. The rules state you move "square by square" and Zargon has to watch carefully to place things as you see them. There is no indication you have to specify your end location before moving. Indeed, that would be horrible. Imagine forcing a hero to tell you what space they were going to move to in a room before they had opened a door to see what was in there! The problem is wholly down to the app, which always assumes your move is over as soon as you take your finger off the screen. You can see this when you interact with a pit trap as well. If you move a character onto the space with a revealed pit trap intending to jump it with the remainder of your movement, the app will not give you the jump option because it assumes that you stopped on the pit trap because you had no movement left.

With those new treasure\magic item cards, can you redraw them after the expired number of uses or are they permanently gone? I do remember dying in this one when the original came out. This is why I have had a bitter taste in my mouth about starting a brand new character in the solo quests. I'm fairly certain the first wolf or the chaos warrior (again original game) is what killed me. The dread warrior was playing with you to its demise. Sometimes after the hero defends a big hit and the monster doesn't defend the return attack, I think the monster is so dumb struck at the good defense that it forgets to defend itself. So what is next, a battle ax which drops you back down to five defense or a long sword keeping you at 3 attack would it be long range, diagonal, or in front of you. If you go battle ax route, you can regain the defense with leather bracers.
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Жыл бұрын
I treat things like the cloak of passage the same as any other treasure card. You remove it from the deck when you find it, and return it to the deck for the next quest. Alas, bracers can only be combined with the shield and helmet. And the elven armour similarly, can only be combined with the shield and helmet. So, if I want to up my damage output with an axe, then I am going to have to forfeit a defence dice.
