Apparently, this Alec was casted perfectly. Taller and better looking than Jace but he doesnt know it and he doesnt even bother to fix himself up and use his charm on people. The way Matthew Daddario talks in the show is also kind of how I imagined Alec would talk: tensed and annoyed, not knowing any mundane nuances as if he hasnt talked or said something normal in a while. He also slouches and crumps when he walks akin to how Alec in the books is not as comfortable in his own skin like Jace was. And I love how this Alec only shows emotions around his sister. Also he obviously looks overprotective. The most spot on cast member in my opinion.

I honestly LOVE the way Daddario portrays Alec so far. I think casting him for the role was so perfect & I can't wait to see the rest of the series & how his character grows in the show.

i really hate that so many people only talk about his looks. He's such a good actor and does an amazing job with alec and also in the other films he's done. He seems so lovely and I would really love if people started to value that over his looks.

I agree! Aside from the eyes, he looks like I pictured Alec and he seems to have such a deep understanding of the way Alec thinks. I also liked his little slip up when he was talking about malec meeting each other and he said "I see him" instead of Alec sees him. He's just such a great guy and I think he was absolutely perfect for Alec.

I know the tv show is a lot different from the books, but isn't change kind of nice? I see it as a cover of a song, or someone's art being redrawn by another person. It's just one thing attempted in different ways.

This is still my fave Matt interview to date! love the archery talk, talking bout explaining the terminology to his mum and all things Malec! His smile though 😄. Perfect casting if you ask me 👌🏻

I thought at first, I would hate the show because they usually ruin the storyline. But the show, though it's been changed compared to the book, is amazing. And Matt plays Alec so well. Grumpy Alec from the book is definitely present in the show 💕💕
