Thriller master writer/director Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon) discusses the critical elements of a taut, suspense-filled movie - raising stakes, unexpected reversals, and satisfying payoffs - using examples from such classics as Rocky, The Long Kiss Goodnight, and La Femme Nikita. Followed by the apocalyptic short film Blind Spot by writer/director Matthew Nayman.
On Story offers a behind-the-scenes look into the process of screenwriting and filmmaking from acclaimed screenwriters, showrunners, directors, and producers. All of our interviews are recorded at Austin Film Festival's conference, festival, and year round events.

Gotta love that "haystack" analogy. Aristotle himself couldn't have done a better job explaining Reversals in drama.

Great bits by Shane Black! Really wish short film makers would learn when their shorts can be 30 seconds to 1 minute long especially for basic concepts like Blindspot..... Take a hint from CryptTV which makes 1 minute shorts and has seen huge success and stop torturing me with lengthy short films with little to say!!
