Thanks for another very enjoyable review, Nikolaj. I saw "On the Beach" in the theater in early 1960, shortly before I turned 13. It was the first time I ever heard "Waltzing Matilda," and to this day every time I hear that song I think of this movie. I've seen the film one other time but that was quite a while ago too, so I don't remember a lot of the details. I remember thinking that it was quite good. However, at some point between the two viewings, I read the book, and I prefer Gregory Peck's character in the book.

Good pick! Fabulous cast. Another interesting film of a similar style is The World The Flesh and The Devil. Harry Belefonte and Inger Steven's. Your film is much better, but the other has an interesting perspective. ❤
