It's the mistaken belief that only muscular or traditionally attractive guys can successfully tailor their own clothes. Let me set the record straight-anyone, regardless of body type, can look fantastic in tailored clothing.
Tailoring isn't about squeezing into tight clothes; it's about creating garments that fit you perfectly, enhancing your personal style. Whether you're tuning in for the first time or you're a regular viewer, my goal is to show you how to customize your wardrobe right at home.
In my tutorials, I often use terms like "V-taper" and "slim fit." It's important to understand these aren't universal goals but rather techniques to achieve a specific look. Don't get hung up on these terms. Tailoring is about making your clothes work for you, not changing your body to suit the clothes.
I've seen too many guys give up on looking good because they feel they're not in the "right" shape for tailored clothes. That stops now. Whether you need to hide a bit of a gut or you're tired of settling for whatever fits off the rack-tailoring can revolutionize your wardrobe.
Remember, the first time you wear something tailored, it might feel odd because it's the first time your clothes truly fit. But stepping out of your comfort zone is where the magic happens. People will notice-not because it's tight, but because it fits you perfectly.
Join me, and let's transform how you look and feel in your clothes. You don't need to be ripped; you just need to be ready to try something that will change your life. Thousands have already seen the difference; now it's your turn!

I was really worried about screwing up my shirts when I first tried to tailor them. So, I just went to Goodwill and bought a shirt to practice on. That shirt is now one of my favorites to wear.

Similar thing happened to me! Used a crappy shirt I didnt like too much and it turned into one of my favorites haha. Funny how that works huh?

So much going on in this video. Thanks for being willing to open the conversation. There's so much room for you to show how you would tailor. Id love a series of videos tailoringother people's clothes, with different body types and highlighting their experiences buying clothes off the rack and the fitting problems that come with it

I've honestly wanted to do that for a VERY long time but I don't have anyone willing to be in my videos. It's the main reason why Its always just ME lol.

In 2020, I lost weight, but still had a bit of a mid section. Tailoring the shirts actually accentuated the good parts and deemphasized the bad. As a short man, tailoring truly has opened options on what to buy, being I can have trousers in my own inseam.

Awesome video!! Everyone can benefit from wearing "better" fitting clothes. Whether it's a confidence boost or just a general feeling of self worth, do it! When it comes down to it though, a chubby vs lean guy and both are wearing tailored clothing, the lean guy is going to look better. Still not an excuse for anyone not to rock "tailored to your body type" clothing.
@StylishDTailors
@StylishDTailors Ай бұрын
Honestly I've seen PLENTY of bigger guys who are wearing fitted clothes and they look better than lean guys simply because of the mental perception they give off. If you see a lean guy in tailored clothes its like "well yeah, you'd look good in anything", but if you see a bigger guy in tailored clothes to me it says "wow, you know you don't necessarily have the "perfect" body type for that but you still went ahead and had the confidence to do it anyway". To me THAT makes the "bigger" person look better.

My gut has grown but I still have broad shoulders, so short sleeve summer shirts are ok but too long. I have 3 new shirts sitting over by my machine now, waiting for me to hem them. I watched your curved hem video, and a million others, but I have a 6mm hemmer foot and I'm still practicing getting that little monster right. Almost there. Also, fat guys can wear "slim fit" items, depending on the cuts. My favorite pants are slim fit and make me look more leggy, especially when shirt hems hit no more than halfway down the crotch

Rolled hem presser feet are a game changer for sure. Not everyone has then so I wanted to make that tutorial without one but using one is definitely a good idea!

@StylishDTailors, please do a rolled hem foot tutorial. I have a short torso and want to wear some of my button-up shirts untucked. They hang down below my crotch...and I'm not a chubby guy at all!

Is it even possible to tailor clothes so they hide love handles better ??? “Loose and boxy” cut shirts seem to do that - and are definitely a little sloppy looking, but it’s better than looking like an overstuffed sausage… Ps: For us chubby guys - We mostly buy shirts that fit around the middle, and have to put up with shoulder seams several inches too wide, and arm holes several inches too low, and sleeves that are too wide and too long….
@StylishDTailors
@StylishDTailors Ай бұрын
You're right loose and boxy shirts definitely do that, but I'd say you should then take it and accentuate your good features instead of hiding them.
