On The Hunt For Cod From Sandsend Cliffs

A group of us headed to the rabbit warrens on Sandsend cliffs in the hunt to try and catch some summer cod.
Still quite a bit off the target. If you wouldn't mind sharing this post far and wide. Heres a little video to see what we do.

Great videos mate. Ive only just came across you n really liked what ive watched so far. My cod grounds are further up at arbroath area, but its always good to see the marks yous boys have down there incase we ever fancy a wee jaunt down..thanks again pal 👍

Great content and points on safety. Just another thing on safety, if you got the 'what three words' app on your phone it will give the emergency service your location to 1mtr they all have it now, even give someone at home the 3 words incase you get into trouble.

I just use spectra or hercules cheap stuff in 60lb

watch a video on how to unhook guthooked flounder , it works on all round fish too , you use a disgorger through the gill and turn the hook , any good hooked fish will revive with that method

I think if you winch a cod up a cliff by its guts it's not gonna go back. I know what your saying about a deep hook flounder ot plaice as I do go in from Gill but gut hook is different from a deep hook.

No gut hooked cod is going back, especially when it would need to be launched off the cliff. Gut hooking a cod is literally hooking the top of its stomach down past its gills 👍
