The weather is on our side today. We've got a new (old) seating arrangement, have plants to water, and catch up on a bit of seed sowing. 🥕🥕

@Petetrenouth Thanks Pete. I wouldn't do it if it wasn't fun. I was on the plot today, had every intention of cleaning up onions and garlic, but landed up doing everything else but, laugh. Now, I'm aching and need 2 paracetamol and my feet up lol. 🤣👍

Late 😂 but here now. Aren’t the colours of cauliflower cool, never had those as kids did we. I am hoping to get out and do a bit of sowing and things this week once it cools down. My favourite is savoy cabbage 🥬 as we can eat leaves separately. Lovely to get a surprise under the cloche 😅. I’m chitting more things too,this year it’s easier than praying something pops up in a pot of dirt 🤣🤣. 4:48 oh wow cool flower. I can’t remember do you leave the dahlias in the ground all winter? Try dried flaked basil on salmon as you poach it 😋😋. Corn 🌽 isn’t dead and not dead is good 👍. I’ll stop rambling now but there’s so much to see 😮, have an amazing week Elaine I hope it’s a sunny one, Ali 🌞🥵 36c 🫠🇨🇦

@myrustygarden Hi Ali. You're right, the corn IS alive lol. I left my dahlias in the ground but lost a couple last winter as I didn't top dress them. I had new ones on tick over in the (heated) greenhouse. I like to hedge my bets with chitting and sowing. One way or another, you get an outcome. Yeah, it's a cool flower. What a joy to watch it grow. You're right, we never had purple cauliflower when we were kids. I don't even think our mums could force us to eat it lol, let alone green vegetables lol.

Some of my tomatoes have that leaf curl but I have seen loads of people saying same thing 🤷‍♀️

Hi Elaine looks like your garden is doing. What are broad beans are they like a Lima or a fava or green bean. Right now I am battling aphids first time I have had to deal with them and I’m not having much success with getting rid of them. They are really hurting my beautiful pepper plants. If you have any suggestions I’d really appreciate it.

@karenchaney9160 Hi. They are called Fava beans, too. These are Bunyards Exhibition. You can use insecticides especially for fruit and vegetables. Something to bear in mind are other insects like bees and ladybirds so id spray later on in the day. Non chemical, I'd spray them with jets of water. There are different natural insecticides like boiling rhubarb leaves but you'll need to look up how exactly to prepare that. Check for ants as they facilitate the aphids, so keep them away from your plants. Feed them with tomato feed. Works for me.
