I plan on opening a make ready company for rentals, you know cleaning, painting, some no nothing job I can do for a week or two a month and be gone the rest of the time. Get out of the expensive cities and you will see how affordable living really is. I have no bills per say so it makes it easier. Found a fixer upper in a small town that is growing.

I grew up in California too, but when I was young, we drove into the station and drove over the cord that rang the bell and 3 or 4 guys would come out to pump gas, clean the windshield, check the tires and oil. And we got stamps or plates as a reward for getting gas. I liked that. Oh then we got to even and odd days. If your license plate ends in a even number you are only allowed to fuel on even days and vice a versa lol

If you ever have a can opener break like that again, you can simply use the two cutting edges of the opener around the can's edge. By just pushing down on that part of the edge as if you were putting it on for the first time. Then remove the opener and do the same thing all around the edge. I hope that makes sense. And, by the way, there is a small can opener you can buy that basically only has the opener part. It's REALLY small. and won't take up as much space in your drawer or break down. Less to it to break down. :-)

You think the gas stations are entrepreneurs? They are owned by large conglomerates, they can afford to hire someone at minimum wage to pump gas, I seriously doubt they are paying a pump attendant a living wage. At upwards of $4.79/gallon, they can afford to pay someone to pump 5 min worth of gas.
@denisesullivan345
@denisesullivan345 3 жыл бұрын
I can appreciate that you are saying that the gas station owner is bring brought closer to bankruptcy, but in my state we have a minimum wage of $11.00 an hour and gas is under $3.00/gal. Also, gas station owners do not make money on the gas. They make money on what they sell in side the store. That’s where there markup is. The gas is to drawn the customer in and the impulse buys are what keep them in business.

Years before you were born, Jonathan, almost every gas station had attendants who pumped gas for you; and they cleaned your windshield as well. Times have changed. Can openers are a bane in my kitchen, even electric ones. I have thrown away so many of them and even brand new ones fall apart like yours did. I keep my old military P-38 and P-52 can openers hanging on a rack and they never fail me. I kept them after opening MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat) while deployed in the fields of Europe and north Africa. Amazon sells pairs of them...good to have when your can opener falls apart.
