Loving the vids, please keep them coming. Can you explain why you can't do twins without a RR? I would have expected you'd treat them the same as a single, but just duplicate the needle mods. Thanks again.

Excellent question

Yes the full power fueling varies between cars, when you use twins it’s possible to be twice as far out when guessing. Without a rolling road full power fueling is just guessing. In this case here the full power fueling remains unchanged as I left it the same as it was set at the previous 2 rolling roads, I was confident that it was in a safe condition. The part throttle fueling is what most people drive on when on the road 95% of the time, so makes the biggest difference to how a car drives and it’s economy. Very few rolling roads actually spend the time dialling in the part throttle fueling which is why you see such good responses from owners in these videos once I have tuned the engine.

The fact that a Rolling road had set the the red mini with twin carbs at a max advance timing figure of 47 deg BTDC, is not just bad it's completely disgraceful. I experience this kind of thing all the time, with all makes and models of cars badly tuned by some rolling roads. A recent example being Rover P5B set with a static ignition timing of 30 BTDC....by a rolling road. V12 Etype 17 BTDC static, V8 Interceptor 20 BTDC all of which then advanced very much into the territory of potential detonation. As per the clear expertise of AC Dodd in these video's, any good tuner is happy to explain what he's done to tune the car and why. Sadly too many Rolling Roads just give a happy graph, but have very little idea what they are actually doing when tuning classic cars.

Nailed it! The best bit was there was a second car following this, also with twin carbs, and also been on the same rolling road, guess what? It to had 47 degrees of ignition advance, and again poorly set carbs. Another happy customer!
