When Pope Francis spoke in front of the United States Congress, he NEVER ONCE MENTIONED THE NAME OF JESUS💔

He's too intelligent and intellectual not to realize he causes confusion. He makes scandalous statements that make you question if he is Catholic, then here comes all the interpreters to quickly walk back his statements and provide another benign meaning. I personally think it's deliberate. This Pope embraces modernism.

Francis has rejected the title Vicar of Christ, and that is very telling. Of all the ‘confusing’ things he has said and done, bringing an idol (Pachamama) onto the grounds of the Vatican for rituals of worship convinced me that Francis has lost his faith. Jesus Christ is the ultimate authority of the Church. Jesus warned us about false teachers: “by their fruits you shall know them.”

I watched a clip of Pope Francis where he stated that “ God does not care whether we are Protestant, Catholic, Muslim or whatever other faith as We are all one, we are one body where Jesus is the head”. This concerned me. Also he has said that he is not the Vicar of Christ.

As far as the Pope giving his own opinions, we seem to forget, that there are many Christians, including Catholics who are listening and accepting the Pope’s words, as truth.

Yes, I agree we as Catholics, individually, need to become much more knowledgesble about our faith.

One of the most helpful bits of advice I have heard was from a priest who suggested that our duty as Catholics when confronted with what seems a confusing or contradictory statement , is to understand the statement within the actual deposit of faith and in a manner consistent with this doctrine. Hard to see how this could go wrong.

What about the details of how the St.Gallen Mafia Cardinals broke the rules when electing Pope Francis? And what about the fact that 3 ballets were held the day when Francis was elected, when the rules state they can only hold two in one day? And what about the fact that if he publicly does not hold the beliefs of the truths of the Catholic Faith, does that not automatically excommunicate him? Wow! Fr. Murr, you are my hero! I always thought that a priest should be interested in teaching only the Catholic faith. Unfortunately, most priests I encounter are not interested and are too proud. I just had to write a letter of admonishment to a local priest just last week, after he refused to reply to an email. So far, he has said nothing in reply. Another time I wrote to another local priest. A year later, he called me into his office and opened the letter I had written to him a year before. The priest had been too scared for a whole year to read my letter!!!!!!! I commend you for your openness!!! Another time, a priest claimed several times in a homily that St. Matthew had not written the Gospel of Matthew! Since my children had been awake and listening to this priest's homily, I decided to confront the priest in the sacristy after Holy Mass. The priest belittled me as being a nobody and knowing nothing about anything. Then he claimed he had learned this at seminary in northern Italy in 1964. He probably did learn it there. I told him he was misinformed. The lack of clarity in Bergoglio's talks comes across quite often. His statements come across as so half-baked and obscure. Thanks for explaining Bergoglio's language disability. It is nonetheless, very irritating to be admonished by the pope on things that he knows nothing about and things that are not even true. That is the cross, of course. We have to explain to those around us that the pope is not speaking truth in this particular matter. He, afterall, has the ear of the press to broadcast his untruths and obfuscations throughour the world and throughout the Catholic world. No, I do not feel secure because of Bergoglio. Disunity and division is his hallmark, not unity. Bergoglio is not seeking input faithful Catholics. instead he seeks our the advice of the head of Pfizer, the World Economic Forum, the Guardians (the Rothchilds!!", the population controllers, even promoting contraception during the Zeka outbreak, and the doctrinal attacks against marriage, the death penalty, and forcing COVID shots on the Vatican and upon the Catholic world are not reassuring to the faithful. Also, Pope Francis does sack bishops who disagree with him!!! I do not believe Bergoglio when he says he wants dialog. Only with those who disagree with the Cathoic faith are welcome to dialog with him. It is discouraging for those of us who have indeed tried to learn the Catholic faith to have the pope denying it in his actions and his statements and broadcasting it throughout the world. Mortal sin does exist and it is why Holy Communion cannot be received by those in mortal sin. Bergoglio tells Catholics to ignore the teachings of Jesus and receive Holy Communion in such a state! This is an offense against God and the first and most important commandment.

The problem is that the REPORTING of the off the cuff remarks by Bergoglio are presented as GOSPEL. NOT SO.

Cardinal Zen needs our prayers. All of the faithful Catholics in China and Hong Kong do. THAT is what this pope does to Jesus' faithful. And his vatican vaccine mandate agreements, and his pachamama, and he changed the teaching on the death penalty....he has never stopped the evil goings on in German synod. Bishop Joseph Strickland is a prayerful courageous defender of the Faith of Our Fathers. I met him on June 24, 2022, the day Roe fell. He is in the spirit of the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11. I believe we are in a holding pattern in Rev 10.

If memory serves me correctly, the last pope to speak ex cathedra was Pius XII when he defined the Doctrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary thus making it a Dogma of the Church. This video here that all Catholics should see. I profoundly reject a lot of what Papa Bergoglio says but he has not spoken ex cathedra and God forbid that he ever does.

Another wonderful discussion. I wish I had been able to be present during the 'live' broadcast and I would have brought something up about 'opinions' and the 'Synod on Synodality.' A close reading of some of the preparatory documents at the Vatican's website, we quickly learn that the Pope Francis clarified that this synod would NOT be collecting 'opinions' - with the notable exception of those of Protestants and other non-Catholics. I well recall that it was the 'opinions' of the Protestants that helped shape Vatican II over 57 years ago. We all know how well that worked out. I believe that the results of the 'Synod on Synodality' are already known and we won't need to wait until 2024 to find out. Francis and the German Synod seek a 'homosexual' church with a homosexual and female clergy.

Bishop Strickland ought to respond by quoting what Vatican II has to say about the authority of a diocesan bishop. Also Canon law according what which a bishop could be removed if he has coimmited a canonical crime. .

I don't find security in this servant of servants and I think Bishop Strickland has waited all these years to finally sound the alarm on behalf of believers like Me. But, I cannot agree with when you say so what the pope said souls disintegrate before they go to hell, and that its just his opinion. It does matter because he is in St. Peter's Chair & there are far too many weaks Catholics that do not know their Faith. Many today say well the pope said it. He must be precise even in his opinions because that is not consistent with the Deposit of Faith. Catholics must accept all articles of it, you said earlier, and certainly the Pope must know and accept Catholic teachings. These are not mistakes, these are his deliberate opinions perhap beliefs that cause chaos that go against Jesus' teachings. But in this topic, you failed at the end to acknowledge what you pointed out at the beginning...this pope DOESN'T dialog...ie the Dubia, but you try to say this is what the pope wants. China has one of the oldest cultures and literature in the world. Any Western institution is essentially a guest in their house. Is it any wonder that they would like a say in who and what is being taught to their people?

Can I ask a simple question? Have either of you read the bible? What does second St.Peter say in chapter 2? What does St.Paul state in Galations chapter 2: verses 11-13? To be honest, I can not understand how you can speak at such length, with such little resolve. Jesus Himself clearly stated I Am the Way, the truth, and the life.

I will definitely follow the advice to truly study and learn my catechism, however what does one do about being in a parish where we follow the missal of 1962 which can't help but imply there is error in the current one (otherwise why would you follow a different one). Do you see how this might be confusing even if one knows one's catechism (which catechism)? What many who are commenting here, and who are podcasting online championing Bishop Strickland seem to be saying is the visible hierarchy of the church is heretical and apostate and cannot be trusted. The Bishop did not specify what he means by "program". He doesn't seem to be saying he has a difference of opinion. Rather he seems to confirm to insecure Catholics that they cannot trust approved doctrines of the church if they were promulgated by our current Pope (and many reject or at least consider it their right to only accept parts of, what post-conciliar Popes have taught anyway). Understanding the difference between opinions and official teaching of the Pope is important, but Bishop Strickland can also be confusing when he doesn't clarify just what he means. One might feel the manner of his accusation falls into the category of slander. IS Pope Francis purposely running a "program" to undermine the deposit of the faith? And if the Bishop makes this accusation, will he be coming forth with cites to the Catechism and to specific teachings of the Pope in order to teach us in a helpful way? And will he do it in a way that doesn't in itself destroy many Catholics' faith that they can rely on the Church's authority in matters of faith?
