Adventure-seeker Alex Honnold is perhaps the biggest climbing star in the world. But the outdoor enthusiast says he would barely be able to get off the ground in today's competitive sport climbing climate. In Spain, if you join eurosport channel and spanish national tv, the climbing final (not speed) was the most viewed event in the whole olympics.

@@Jam.... Why? It's a real discipline just like the others. Agree that it shouldn't be combined with the others like in Tokyo (bouldering and lead should be separate too), but since it has a separate medal there are no problems with that.

It's a perfectly valid sport, it's just different and it has its own medal now so it can stand on its own as it should.
