"On Their Shoulders," a movie seen at the Normandy Visitor Center, tells the story of three men who were killed in action on D-Day or soon after. "For a minute in time the fate of the free world, the entire free world, once rested on their very young shoulders."
The Normandy Visitor Center opened in 2007.

Since 2007, every year in May, three of my collegues and I go on a trip to Normandy with a group of students. Within the narrow marge of six days, we try to make them realise that their lives are not as unconditional as they always presume. We tell them the stories of those who could not tell them theirselves. We lay wreaths at American, Britisch and Canadian cemeteries. And every year, 47 pupils go home with the last words of Captain Miller on that bridge on their minds: "James, earn this." We Dutch will remember.

I returned home from a holiday in Normandy yesterday. Whilst there we went to the American War Cemetery. I watched this short film in the visitors centre, it moved me in a way I've never experienced before. So much so that I have looked for the film to watch again. One line in particular really resides in me. 'Perhaps they never did realise that for a minute in time the fate of the free world, the entire free world, once rested on their very young shoulders' Thank you for producing such a powerful and emotive film.

Too many of the young people don't have a grasp of knowing "What's worth fighting for!" Great tribute to those that gave "Their last full measure!"

How Many Tears Have Fallen Tears so many have fallen Through the years for the Greatest Nation ever Tears for life liberty the pursuit of happiness For a free world Tears for the sons and daughters that never returned home Warrior soldiers all Tears wiped from the cheeks of so many wives Shed by the children with only faint memories Tears behind the mother's veil On father's handkerchief Tears at the base of the white stone That wet the flowers and flags Tears at the sound of taps played in the distance For the memories of buddies Tears at the sight and sound of dog tags boots Empty Tears when the aircraft flyover Stars shining brightly Tears as the ships sail Anchors aweigh Tears for those that patrol Guard the dark nights alone Tears at roll call With no reply to a name called How many tears have fallen Bless Them All Dr. Sack 5/30/2021

The story of Walter F. Perra brought tears to my eyes. My dream is to do what he did all those years ago; becoming a pilot in the military. Only the thought of being killed while doing something you love the most, flying, gives me a sense of peace and happiness. We must never forget what these men did for us.

I think this was narrated by Harve Presnell who portrayed General George C. Marshall in the 1998 film "Saving Private Ryan". Am I correct, ABMC ?
