Greetings from Finland. I was in a hangover too when I got saved. I also got bad anxiety and was very nervous and then I just cried out to the Lord that I cant take this anymore, please forgive me for my sins and redeem me. After I prayed this prayer I felt like something went through me and all the anxiety went away and peace came instead. I just wept and wept and thanked Jesus. I knew what had happened to me and I knew from that point that I was saved. Its been 7 years now and my life has changed totally. And all the glory and the praise goes to God, our heavenly father Who came for us in Jesus Christ!

Yes and yes. I uploaded a clip of Dr Chuck Missler teaching on this with Ron Matson. Many folks don’t understand how we are saved but yet we still wrestle the old man. Thank you so much for answering my question. I used my husbands email to ask this question that we've been discussing with some family for a while. What a beautiful and honest answer you gave. Thank you so much for taking the time and laying the foundation of God's grace and plan of salvation. We are truly secure once we believe in Christ and His perfect plan for our salvation. It really is so simple and it is devastating how religion has made it difficult to obtain and to maintain. I pray the Lord can comfort those who question their own salvation and who have been deceived by those who want to place them back under the bondage of the law. We rest in what Jesus did for us and trust Him when He said "it is finished".

There's a book by Charles Stanley, I believe its called Once Saved Always Saved, he covers every verse that could make a believer think they can lose their salvation, its a very easy read and makes total sense and it sealed for me that the Lord will never let me go....but my own opinion, I didn't read this in that book, but to me, I feel that if someone believes they can lose their salvation, they are basically saying that what Jesus Christ did on the cross was not good enough, His blood sacrifice was just not good enough...so it makes me think that they truly do not have faith in Him, they are trusting in themselves. This may upset some people but it's the truth. satan will always be in our ear telling us we can lose it...if God would take it back, that would make Him an Indian giver, and that's not the God I worship...His salvation is forever. God bless you all always...

The word for depart used in 1 Timothy 4:1 is aphistēmi and has several different uses, one meaning to repel, so it could mean people repel the faith and give into doctrines of devil's. Also Jesus does say "All that the Father gave me, I shall lose NONE" hmmm so it doesn't sound like Jesus says anyone loses salvation. Matthew 24 is for the Jews in Daniels 70th week, do you have mountains to flee to? Would you pray it doesn't happen in Sabbath? 🤔🧐 Think about that my friend. Shalom.

Hi Pastor Brian, just my take/personal experience/struggle…but I don’t think the question is really about “works” or lack of works but rather about sin. Many people today struggle with recreational drinking, smoking, vaping, & drug use like weed. What starts as recreational fun or escapism quickly turns towards addiction as a persons tolerance increases and habits form…rapidly descending into addiction. I believe the real question here is “How much partaking of worldly pleasures can a person do and still be saved?” I’ve certainly come to my own conclusion through Scripture but I would love to hear your perspective/counsel if you could address this in an upcoming video. Thanks so much!

The beauty of our Lord Jesus is that He knows us from before we were born thus He knows our heart from the moment we were born until the moment we fall asleep and wait for Paradise being our home or until raptured if never having to fall asleep. When God knows that at some point in our lives we will chose to believe Jesus is Saviour, our Lord works on us from birth and has His embrace over us and will get us to the finished line. Sometimes it becomes clear from birth of His gospel that saves and many times for many of us His children it takes a lifelong work being done on us by our Lord Jesus to get us to the resting place He seeks for us to be in which is in His embrace and all because we finally understand His saving grace gospel, which truly is rest for our soul. You were and are in good hands which Jesus kept you from birth in His embrace. Even though you did not understand the sin nature and salvation being by His gift alone until an elder age, it does not mean you were not saved as a child from when you believed Jesus is the Saviour. Many folks, even christians end up putting God in a box and try to mold Him by the human view instead of being Spirit led and I do not say this to judge anyone but too many speak from self wisdom instead of Christ led wisdom which really is the only true wisdom. Our own wisdom is as a filthy rag thus it being no wisdom at all. Rest assured that Jesus is your Saviour and since your heart believes so, you are in Good Hands and our Lord surely will not lose one of His sons and daughters. Out of most things done in our day in regards to prayers and talking to God, one of the powerful resting tools on our belts is giving thanks to our Father for His grace and finished work on our behalf so that we may have assurance of His promise. The more we are thankful the easier it gets to be at rest in Christ, thus where His Holy Spirit is able to lead us according to His will. Not that we will not fall and stumble any longer cause we will always fall in some way and need His reassurance but to be in a place of knowing our position in Christ, His Spirit is able to lead us that much sooner cause we are not holding Him back by our own manmade thinking. Not that Jesus needs us for Him to be able to do anything cause as you already know, He is God and can do anything He wants but surely He is such a good Father that He patiently works with us that we come on our own to Him and say thank you Father and all glory is truly yours alone. Anyhow, this is simply a reminder, and it applies to me too cause this world we live in is full of noises of manmade doctrines that are trying to steer us in circles but thanks be to our Lord Jesus cause when we lack faith He is always faithful to bring us back to Himself. Glory be to our God; Lord Jesus; The Alpha and Omega, now and forevermore. Amen and Amen. Blessings to you my sister in Christ and to your loved ones, in Jesus name.

Another big aspect I’m trying to work through has to do with dispensationalism. Some say the passages in Hebrews (for example, also places like Revelation) that sound works based are addressed to, or about the Jews. Those are the passages that make people think you can lose your salvation. And they do seem contrary to Romans etc. And they say primary Christian doctrine is found in Paul’s 13 letters. Is it necessarily that simple? I don’t know.
@nanadeborah8717
@nanadeborah8717 5 ай бұрын
It is. The church was a mystery until Jesus revealed it to Paul. It is hinted at in some other passages in the Bible, but even Peter was surprised at the simplicity of the gift of grace. Remember when Jesus said to let the children come to him? Then He told the apostles that inn order to enter the kingdom of heaven, one must be like a little child. Why? Because small children love their parents unconditionally. It is a relationship between father and child. We have to put our trust and faith in God and believe that the work Jesus did on the cross is all we need for salvation. There is a precedent in Genesis when God made the covenant with Abraham. God put Abraham to sleep and He completed the covenant contract alone. That way there is nothing that Abraham or his descendants could do to break the covenant. It's the same with the gift of grace that we receive when we believe. There is nothing we can do to break this bond.

Yes, Paul's doctrine is for the Body of Christ Church for this Dispensation of Grace. Only Paul addressed the Body of Christ Church. Everything else in the new Testament is according to Israel's Doctrine which is based on their 70 weeks prophecy. Mixing Israel's doctrine with Paul's doctrine for this Dispensation of Grace, can only lead to confusion. Israel's prophecy program is not in play today. It won't be in play again until this Dispensation of Grace is over. Every Denomination out there is taking different bits and pieces of Israel's doctrine and applying it to the Body of Christ Church. Lots of people believe Paul's Gospel of Grace (that Christ died for our sins and rose again for our justification), but they don't trust that to save them. So, are they truly saved??? IDK, I'm not going to make that call. I can't make that call. There is only one Gospel today that is the power of God unto salvation for anyone that believes it (Romans 1:16). That isn't Israel's Gospel of the Kingdom (that Israel's promised kingdom is finally at hand. Mark 1:15).

Remember, God himself repented, several times in fact. So does God sin? Does he need to live a life of "repentance"? Do you know what "repent" means? It means to change your mind. So you are saying someone has to live a life of a changed mind? Also, take a look at 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 again very closely, and I mean VERY closely... Do you see the word "murderers"? So I guess because murderers aren't mentioned in the passage, being a murderer is ok?? Think about it... What you see there are Greek tenses of Anabasis and Asyndeton. What you see is the anabasis tense. That means it's providing examples, not a checklist of what one must do or not do. If it was using the Asyndeton text, then that would be the checklist.

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE Jesus in the old testament book of Isaiah 53 Isaiah predicted that the Servant of the Lord would be disfigured by suffering and rejected by many. 700 years later, Yeshua was struck, spat on, mocked, and blasphemed (Mark 15:17-19, Matthew 27:39-44). Isaiah said this person would come from humble beginnings. Yeshua grew up in a city with a poor reputation, Nazareth (Luke 2:39-40,51). Isaiah said that the Servant would bear our sins and suffer in our place. 700 years later, Jesus “himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24). Isaiah predicted that the Servant would heal many. Jesus made the lame walk, the blind see, and the sick healthy all throughout his earthly ministry (Matthew 8:16-17). Isaiah said that he would voluntarily take our punishment upon himself. Jesus said: “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (John 10:11). Jesus did not defend himself before Herod, Pontius Pilate, or the Sanhedrin (Matthew 26:62-64, 27:11-14; Luke 23:9). Just as Isaiah foretold, he remained silent during his suffering. Isaiah predicted that the Servant would die, be buried with a rich man, but would not remain dead. Jesus did all of this when he died on a cross (Mark 15:37; John 19:33-34), was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea (Matthew 27:57-60), and when he rose three days after his death. In 1922, the late David Baron, a British Jewish believer in Yeshua who was well-versed in rabbinics, wrote: It is beyond even the wildest credulity to believe that the resemblance in every feature and minutest detail between this prophetic portraiture drawn centuries before his [Jesus’] advent and the story of his life, and death, and glorious resurrection as narrated in the gospels, can be mere accident or fortuitous coincidence. Can it be true? Ask yourself-if you have the courage to believe it. The Greatest Gift Ever Given To The Whole World Eternal Life Through Jesus Christ Our Lord The Real Gospel That Saves Your Soul The real power is in the gospel according to God, it only has the power to set a person free from the bondage of sin and death. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). It is not based on human traditions, rituals, or works, but on the finished work of Christ on the cross. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). The gospel reveals God's love for us and his justice. He loves us so much that he sent his only Son to die in our place, to pay the penalty for our sins and to satisfy his wrath against us (John 3:16). He is also holy and righteous, and he cannot overlook our rebellion and disobedience. He must judge sin and punish the guilty (Romans 2:5-6). The true gospel is not a message of human wisdom, tradition, or religion. It is not based on rituals, ceremonies, or works. It is not a matter of opinion, preference, or feeling. It is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). The true gospel is the message of what God has done for us in Christ. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). It is the declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (Revelation 1:5). Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (1 Corinthians 15:3-9). THE GOSPEL THAT SAVES, PAUL SPEAKING Moreover, brethren, I declared unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand, by which also you are saved if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was.

I have something to add. Disclosure: I /want/ to believe OSAS is true. This is something I struggle with, due to life experiences, and a few chapters in Hebrews. But I /want/ it to be true. I want to share something that recently became highlighted to me, in the hopes that it will help other believers, who also struggle with the idea that God is going to get mad at them, and throw them away. In 1 Corinthians 5, it tells of a guy who is fornicating with his stepmother. Ew. We are not told if his father is dead, or alive. To me, this would matter, but... we are not told. What we /are/ told, is that this boy, who is fornicating all over the place with his stepmom - so much so that word is out, and spreading all the way to wherever Paul is writing from - we are told that he - IS -still saved: " It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you. For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord." Verse 5 makes it very clear that this guy is going to die for what he is doing, but that his "spirit is saved". Now, I'm no theologian, but this seems to say that OSAS must be true. For those of you who struggle to believe that God won't toss you aside, too - You are not alone. Hang tough. Look up. Hold fast.

I started studying Hebrews and was surprised to find several verses that point to eternal security. Those who use other verses in Hebrews to try to make the case that a believer can lose their salvation, typically interpret "fall" or "fall away" as equal to losing salvation. I interpret "fall" as loss of progress in growth/sanctification. If we say "fall" equals loss of salvation then what verses warn believers about the dangers of not continuing to grow in the faith and in obedience, which is so needful? Nowhere in the New Testament does it ever say that a true believer became unborn, moved back from light to darkness, that a person had eternal life but no longer has eternal life, that someone who was a child of God is no longer an heir, that their sin which was forgiven is now held against them, etc.

I'll say it flat footed no you can't walk away from the faith. When you hear the truth and you believe it in that millisecond you have eternal life. Then there's the rest that maybe believe in a false Jesus, trust in their works, some combination etc that never had eternal life. That's the two groups. The saints and the aints. That's all there is.

@thomasharp3246 Eternal life for those who abide in Him. The verse you quoted does not in any mean we can stop believing and still be saved. That's just absurd and to be honest with you, heresy. If we are faithless, He remains faithful: We cannot deny Jesus and we must keep our allegiance to Him. Yet if one does fall away, it doesn’t change who God is - He remains faithful. Funny how you skipped over the part the refutes what you said. If we deny Him, He also will deny us: The song warns those who deny Jesus that they themselves will be denied. By doctrine or manner of living, one may deny who Jesus is, deny what He has done for us, or deny what He commands us to do.

Well it’s Gods eternal plan of salvation not ours. John 3:15+16,36, John 5:24, John 6:47. All contain present tense grammar and the possession is life that never ends. With that sad if I have this “life that never ends”as the scriptures say I can have the second I believe in Christ for it, but I don’t have it say in 6 months from now then it was never eternal life to start with. So if that’s the case is the grammar wrong? Are the readers of the Bible being lied to ? Jesus says in (John 4:10) this life was a gift, and he gives you living water, and that whosever drinks it (John 4:14) they would never thirst again. So if this life is a gift, and we won’t thirst again and it never ends how in the world could I lose it? Paul says we are sealed (Ephesians1:13) into an inheritance, and he calls this life a gift also (Romans 5:15-19, Romans 6:23). Paul says God never revokes gifts (Romans 11:29). So if you got it , it was from him, and you can have it the second you believe him for it and it’s a gift that he never revokes. That should say it all ..

Losing and forfeiting are not the same thing. 1 Timothy 4:1 says people will fall away. They forfeit salvation. So walking/falling away is forfeiting salvation. Losing salvation would be God taking it from you. The latter not being biblical. People have, do and will walk fall away from the faith. Just because we are born again doesnt mean we lose our free will that God gave us.

That verse does not say forfeit salvation, do not add to the book. Do you think think all Christians have 100% entire faith in the truth of the Bible? I can tell you right now, most you ask about the shape of the earth, will say it's a globe. That is a doctrine of demons, and Christians fall for that BS. That doesn't mean they aren't saved, but that does mean if they don't stay rooted in the word they will get deceived. John 10: 28-30 clearly tells you that nobody can be plucked from the father's hand.

@Brii.Z Falling away and walking are the exact same thing. Which would be forfeiting salvation. That's just common sense. Yes John 10 say "nobody" can pluck us out of God's hand. That is to say, nobody can cause remove salvation from us. This has nothing to do with an individual walking/falling away. You literally added a meaning to a verse that's not even implied yet accused me of adding something that's already there to begin with. Yes the earth is a globe and scripture implies as much.

Here's a surefire test. Ask someone if they know if they're going to heaven. If the answer is no they obviously don't believe. But if the answer is yes then ask how. If the answer is because Jesus paid for my sins they're a believer. If the answer is anything else they're deceived. Whether it's because I'm a good person, I keep the commandments, etc they're deceived. I believe and live a good life, deceived. If there's an and or but after I believe they're deceived in a works based system. It's one way, the only way, Jesus paid for my sins. No ands, no buts.

There is a neat way to look at this. Of Jesus died for the sins of the world that would also include rejection of the gospel and unbelief in God altogether. How can we preach that Jesus saves when billions would be lost? That is inefficiency on a monstrous scale and I believe that God would be a tad more intelligent than that. Just a tad. A benevolent Almighty being would never leave something as important as eternity to be decided by our pea brains. Relax , go to church and make friends and don't worry, God has all souls in safe keeping.

You are not "saved"while you are still living. Salvation is a life long battle to the end of your earthly life. Outside the Church (Body of Christ)there is no salvation. Protestants have lost their salvation by belonging to a man-made Church which is not the Word of God. If works are not necessary for salvation, then why does God command us to do the Charitable Works of Mercy ? Also, our Lord warns us we will be separated from him forever if we do not meet the needs of the poor and the little ones who are his brethren. There are many other works we have to do to obtain salvation. Christ died so that our sins could be forgiven, and we once more had the right to enter heaven Sorry Protestants but Baptism (of water and the Holy Spirit) is necessary for salvation. Baptism erases the stain of original sin and any personal sins committed. After Baptism. all sins committed have to be forgiven and absolved. The Church established by Christ on the foundation of the Apostles teaches the fullness of the means of salvation.

There is no mystical power (efficacy) by being dunked in water. No grace is bestowed. Apart from water baptism's spiritual meaning, you are only getting wet. Being baptized doesn't make someone a believer, anymore than walking into a garage makes someone an automobile. Water baptism is symbolic of the Lord's death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:4-5). In water baptism, we are identifying ourselves with our Savior, signifying that we have already believed on Him. Nowhere in the Bible was anyone ever baptized; until AFTER they were saved.
