Once Upon a Time in America (Italian: C'era una volta in America) is a 1984 epic crime film starring Robert De Niro and James Woods. It chronicles the lives of best friends David "Noodles" Aaronson and Maximilian "Max" Bercovicz as they lead a group of Jewish ghetto youths who rise to prominence as Jewish gangsters in New York City's world of organized crime. The film explores themes of childhood friendships, love, lust, greed, betrayal, loss, broken relationships, together with the rise of mobsters in American society.

I can see the acting resume of some of the bit players: 1984 - thug, 1985 - mean thug, 1986 - grinning thug, 1987 - sympathetic murderous thug. Casting director, "Why are you always playing a thug and now you want a leading role in a children's movie?" Bit player, "I thought it's time to showcase my range of acting talents. Don't want to get typecast."

My favorite Leone film is the Good, Bad and Ugly. I believe the best Western ever filmed once upon a time in the West. But this is by far Leone's best film. Inmo

Yea films usually get released a year after filming. The Shining was filmed in 79 but released 80.

Everything is correct there, he died in 1983 at the age of 29.
