Can anyone really imagine themselves cutting a slot in a clothes pin, then disassembling a manual pencil sharpener to insert the blade into, to make some sort of wire stripper that you'll only use once, when you can literally buy a cheap wire stripper at Harbor Freight for 5 bucks, and use it forever?

Soak the pliers in car radiator antifreeze and that will remove the rust or CLR. It does a much better job.

As kids, we'd take old lighters and pull the spring out and the flint. Pull the spring apart just enough to put the flint in it. Then heat it with another lighter. When it starts glowing, throw it on the ground. Sparks fly like fireworks lol

I'm not at all enthralled by this vid, but the use of a hacksaw blade is fit-for-purpose as the intended groove is for a pencil sharpener blade. Even a dovetail saw would be too thick. If he was sawing up 4x2 with a hacksaw, that'd be silly, but for this wire-stripper project, it seems like the best tool choice.

The only point I'm making is that good project or bad, if it involves a thin blade retained in a piece of wood, the slot for said blade should be cut with a saw blade no thicker than whatever you want to hold in it, otherwise it'll just keep falling out.

Re the measuring tape and the pencil, drop the pencil, you don’t need it, turn the tape the other way round and use the end, catch of the tape to mark with, simples

I use my Dremel tool a LOT with a burr bit to Dremel out plastic and wood in small, confined areas, I need a new burr bit, and I find a lot of empty lighters. This saves me a bunch! Wow! Thank you!
