Technically and theoretically, I think they are the same being. To say there are two omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent God's be in two universes yet far above those universes, makes me think they are the same but simply appear in different forms for each universe. Simply my theory.

My personal headcannon: The "God" character in fiction is the same across all fandoms and fictional universes/realities, just taking different forms and being known/recognized by different names or titles depending on who is referring to him/her/them. If you're talking about a being who is omnipotent, omniscient, omni-____, etc., there can only be one, so it would be the same being across all fictional realities. The One Above All = The Presence = Eru Iluvatar = Holactie the Creator of Light = The-Emperor-Over-the-Sea = [insert fictional supreme deity] etc.

They did this fight in the DC/Marvel cross over... nether could beat the other and and never spoke. The Amalgam Universe is a parallel universe created and destroyed as a result of a cross-Multiversal conflict between cosmic beings. It was a combination of the Marvel Universe and the DC Universe. When two entities known as the Brothers (the embodiments of both the Marvel and DC multiverses) remembered each other's existence (due to recent cosmos-shaking events that tore the fabric of the multiverses and redefined reality), they pitted combatants from their respective realities together.
