Cool factoid: the guitarist and also backing vocalist, Jim Ward, now in Sparta, said that this song was conceived by accident, by the band trying to rehearse "Unsung" by the band Helmet. They then started writing a song and original music content, based on a poem that Cedric had written about after watching the 80s movie Alien. I can definitely hear Unsung in this song, at some portions. Especially the drumming and bass stop-and-go.
@StevenEveral5 жыл бұрын

I remember the first time I saw this video on MTV2, back when MTV2 had just arrived and only played videos. It seems crazy to think about that this was 2000, I was only 14, yet the memories of this video still seem so vivid because it was so different from everything else they played. I can't believe how much time has gone by, and it makes me wonder how many others were influenced by this video thanks to MTV2. MTV gets a lot of hate but at least they got some things right over the years.

Saw them on stage in 2000, thinking they were going to be one of those metalcore bands that were in vogue back then. I was completely BLOWN AWAY. Rushed to the merch stand to buy their CD! Edit: the wild afro's should have told me they were no "ordinary" band :)

Damn, that hits home. I remember watching this video for the first time and getting that RATM vibe. Just so happened that ratm was my favorite band. We’re getting old brother. 😂

I remember being 11 or 12 years old, playing this song on bass on guitar hero 3. Begged my mom for a real bass ever since I heard this song, finally got one after a year or two, immediately taught my self how to play this song. Probably one of the few songs i can play 100% correctly all the way through even after years of never hearing/playing the song
