I went to chamberlain high school a while back. I wanted to discuss something that happened to me there, plus everything else that went on. Due to privacy reasons I won't share my real name or class year, but I did go to this school. Like most high schools that I'm sure of, it's filled with bullies, harassment, favoritism with sport stars such as football, baseball, softball, etc. They mostly cared about football season and the players. One player I will call out is Dontae Aycock. To the county and school, he was a star, a grade a model student. Far from the truth. He was a narcissist and bullied people, including me. Everyone loved him because he was a star; this guy was a phony. But like most people, he fell down after high school. Anyways, the school did nothing much about bullies or harassment. Only cared about enforcing the rules and kissing the smart kid's butts so they can get their school a great grade. Say that to those kids who are sad, alone, and are going through stuff that no one knows about. It's all about fighting and disrespect. I'm sure all schools have this too, and it's getting worse. Kids don't want to listen anymore; they don't want to do good in school. There are some good teachers and bad ones as usual, and the administration enforces the rules which is a good thing, but like I said they love to praise the smart kids who excel above and beyond and kissing their butts. They don't want to help those who are struggling or those who can't do well no matter how hard they try. To an extent, they do everything they can to those kids who don't care about anyone but themselves. It's gotten bad to worse. When I was there, someone made an acid bomb and injured a student, and that person didn't care. Someone got sexually assaulted, someone got stabbed, and I even saw a girl brutally smacked a guy in the face because he and other people were laughing that she got water spilled on her. One time I overheard a student saying he tricked an Ap about something and was going to buy beer with the money the Ap gave him. What's next? But what I am going to talk about is one person who embarrassed me big time. He was a principal back then. I was debating if I should use his name or not but I will since its been years. His name is Mr. Morrill. It was in an assembly and I was at the front row. All of a sudden he looks at me and makes fun of me and the whole audience looked at me and gasped. He showed no remorse whatsoever. He even laughed too. What did I ever do to him? I still question that now. How, why did I ever deserve such disrespect? Did you know I was going through a hard time? When I barely had any friends? When kids were mean to me and bullied me just to make fun of me? When I had goals I waited so long for and it didn't work? When I felt bad about myself almost all the time? When I was negative everyday I wanted to quit school? When I was walking the halls alone wanting a friend but people didn't care? Did you know? No, you just did that to amuse yourself and to make fun of me. You are a terrible educator Mr. Morrill. I don't know if this school has gotten worse. I haven't been there In a long time; but I will tell you this. I won't be going back to a reunion. Most people didn't give a shit anyways. Why bother?
