Welcome to Assertive Acquisitions, the series where Capac, TheFinalEvent97 (or TFE if you're lazy like me) and I will be making every effort to acquire the unique ASSERT thrusters which can only be stolen from NPCs and using these to assemble a ship of our own.

That one moment when you realize that Capac just might be an enemy infiltrator. For those of you who choose not to remember, he magically appeared one day as an independent contractor. His known skill set includes creatively destroying friendly assets while maintaining a facade of indifferent or oblivious incompetence.

Splitsie is getting in his vehicular acrobatics practice so that he will be ready when he goes for his job interview as a Hollywood stunt driver. First jump: generic jump. Second jump: mid-air 360 degree front flip. Third jump: 3-second front moon-walk. Capac & TFE both went on a 'crash diet' in support of Splitsie's dream. Guys, I don't think that's the sort of "crash" the term refers to. Will Capac's rover become the 6 Million Space Credit mobile? They have the technology, they can rebuild it. Be sure to tune in next week to find out.

the jump at 35:09 makes me think of the scene of Spirit: Stalion Of The Cimaron where Spirit jumps with his rider over the big canyon to escape the bad guys.

Splitsie make combat rover, then he put a lot of valuable stuff in it and now he is afraid to lose it. Good that everything is normal order. Atleast buy medkits and power cells when going on foot. They rly can safe your bacon. Small grid tank would be nice force multiplayer and small grid prevents you from turning it to mobile base too value to lose.

I see that Splitsie is perfecting his special 'Croissant Manoeuvre' - assume enemy ship is dead/can't fire and fly around it, get shot, act surprised... Splitsie also takes responsibility for crashing two rovers - both second-hand, by goading their respective drivers into jumping chasms until said rovers are destroyed (mostly)... Coming Next Week - A Special-edition radio play of Splitsie trying to repair all the damage he has caused, while trying to convince the audience that it Was Not His Fault...! (Maybe, we'll even believe you...)

Hello Splitsie, I wanted you to be aware of your share of the blame in my most recent problem. Because of your awesome Space Engineers content I knew I had to keep away from this game, I knew how badly it would bite me. And that I did not had the time availability to actually play it. So I resisted. Then Keen decided to put their game on sale for the steam summer sale, and steam decided to slap it right on my face right as I had requested vacations for this end of month. Of course, my resistance check failed. And I've already started a world. ... I can only say... Inventory full. GG Splitsie. GG. Time to rewatch your tutorials I guess.

I'm pretty sure that the excessively wide wheelbase of Splitsie's Base Rover is the reason he was acing the landings, the mass probably gave him extra lift when he released the suspension too

I think I know why you died suddenly while welding up the airtight hangar door on the bunker. If the door was originally closed and you weld it up while on top of it, you'll get crushed when the rest of the door "appears". Been there, done that.

I have a silly idea on how to take out the spaceport- Indiscriminate warhead bombing Make a hinge that has a long arm attached to it with a large magnet at the very end. This magnet could hold many small warheads or a few large warheads Basically you’d arm the warheads and fling them at the enemy base like a trebuchet XD

I wonder if setting the wheel friction to zero before landing a big jump (or landing after getting a lot of air) would help with the flipping. Theoretically your rover should just bounce vertically, without getting any rotational momentum. Might not work when landing on craggies, though.

I don't know if you have the materials for it, but the best 1.4 KM snipper gun is a custom turret using small grid railguns and Whip's Weapon Salvo Script. If you use 5 or more railguns the reload time becomes just a few seconds between each shots.

An idea for taking the spaceport: A battering ram personnel transport vehicle. Well armoured vehicle with just a survival kit + some space to stand on that you all ride in to ram and destroy an opening in a wall of the spaceport to then take it on foot from the inside.

The kogia was never going to survive that jump. TFE’s prediction a few episodes ago has proven to be correct. Capac jumping it went horribly wrong

17:13 It's really satisfying to watch that thing absolutely shatter against the wheels of the rover. They are made of nothing but steel, after all. With the uranium you've been stealing from reactors, and the components from said reactors and other blocks, you could almost definitely build a small grid railgun on a custom turret to snipe with. It's that or see if the gatlings are any better, in the like 200 meter range that I think you can snipe from (if I'm right about the projectiles travelling a kilometer despite turrets' 800 meter range). I feel if anyone chasing you was to see you jump across one of those canyons, they'd just give up then and there, you'd earn the win (took about half an hour for that claim not to age well). At least neither craft truly fell into the canyon's depths? Terrifying stunt to watch, for sure, particularly TFE being just forward enough to avoid bouncing right back in the first time. It's interesting to think that they're probably once-undersea trenches or something similar, given the salt flat, which itself says some concerning things for just how deep they must be. 58:29 You can _hear_ the adrenaline winding down.

Try Rover>Hinge>Piston>Hinge>Hinge>Piston>Hinge>Hinge>Piston>Hinge>Hinge>Drill.. it will be much more compact when it folds up like a pair of scissors and is a lot more versatile than Jamming 3 pistons straight into the ground.

Since the first Warfare DLC I'm disappointed this game doesn't have good scoped higher range weapons, in a situation like this a anti materiel sniper rifle would be perfect, the only problem can be how you balance to not be OP...

Man imagine you are a scientist, working for a shitty company, doing research in the middle of nowhere, where the only eventful thing each day is the local rat trying to chew through a cable again. And then one day you see masive, building sized rovers heading your way at top speed, driven by three mainiacs. And when they are done raiding your place, they disappear, leaving behind your home without a roof or door and the worst thing, they took your diary.

2 Minutes in and I think you need a mod to remove the flair gun. I think Keen has said that one of the next DLC/Updates will involve PvP/PvE. I wonder if it might include tracking missiles? If so then Keen could make the flair gun/fireworks launchers act as decoy launchers. Capac will need to change a couple of names. He can go to a variation of James Bond and his rover can be the French Taxi from "A View to A Kill" since its now just a front axle.

Why remove it? its fun for goofing around with, and helpful for signaling your location to others when playing with others in situation where you need to have your antennae off (hiding from reavers)

58:10 Was this localhost advantage? Capac should have landed, but I think the host lagged the calculations and allowed him to intersect with voxels in an explosive manner.

Almost certainly it was due to the mass of the vehicle and the massively smaller number of suspension blocks to soften the impact. 6 wheels vs 20 is a big difference when the mass difference was only about 25%
