Gabriel, in case you haven’t figured it out yet, you don’t have phone service because T mobile does not offer any service in north Cyprus. Just like no international airline flies to the occupied north of Cyprus no legitimate phone company offers service to the occupied north. Would you expect T mobile to offer service to Crimea?

@mn7486 2 күн бұрын
@@tenerremzi9202 Yes, you get the Turkish Vodafone there because you are Turkish and have a Turkish cell phone contract. But international travelers don’t have any phone service there because no other country except Turkey has roaming there as they do not recognize the occupied part of Cyprus. The only possible phone connection for international travelers is from the free south part of Cyprus, and in many places in the occupied north they get coverage from the antennas in the south.

This is a truly great series of videos. I know this part of the world reasonably well, but it's interesting and refreshing to see it through a new pair of eyes and from a different perspective. As others have pointed out elsewhere, there is a dearth of videos on Northern Cyprus, little more than 'brave souls' (sic) crossing the border at the end of Ledras Street, or short vids advertising property for sale in Kyrenia. I'll be sad when you leave TRNC :(

Hi Gabriel, what you can do when you don't have an internet connection is to pre-plan your trip, and make points like A - First stop, B - Second stop and so on. For eg - Start from your hotel then go to Church 1 (Stop A) then Beach (Stop B) then Other place (Stop C) and back to the hotel (Stop D). In this way it will be similar to the way you are traveling without internet , you will get your live location and also don't have to go to only 1 place. I did the same while traveling in Goa, but there is a limit of 10 stops in Google maps. 😅😅 I love watching your videos. And as you just go with the flow, my tip may not be helpful for you 😅😅😅

Hello Gabriel ... We enjoy your videos a lot and your narration. Thank you. The food that you gave to the donkeys is from a tree called Carob, the pods are green then they turn dark, the pods are then pressed and molasses is made from them which is very healthy and tasty. The donkeys have great taste buds . Carob trees usually are found in Lebanon, Syria, and I guess Cyprus has them as well.

Hi Gabriel, regarding the phone service, that area of the Island seems to be using only 2G or 3G and it doesn't seem like they have 4G service, at the very least slow Internet. They really need to upgrade the service, possibly no demand for it. It's funny how they still have these Greek churches in the area so I'm assuming that a large number of Greeks still live in the area. Beautiful beach a bit of rough water very murky a lot under current.
@GabrielTravelerVideos
@GabrielTravelerVideos 11 ай бұрын
Greeks are only .2% of the population of Northern Cyprus. I think most of the churches are just old churches that have been abandoned and aren't really used, perhaps a few of them are attended by some of the remaining Greeks.
@GabrielTravelerVideos
@GabrielTravelerVideos 11 ай бұрын
PS. Here's some more info about the town where I stopped at the church and the mosque: "Before 1974, the town was predominantly inhabited by Greek-Cypriots. During the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 20 July 1974, the peninsula was cut off by Turkish troops, and this prevented the town's Greek-Cypriot inhabitants from fleeing to the south. As a result, with 250 Greek Cypriot inhabitants, Rizokarpaso is the home of the biggest Greek population in the North. Between 1974 and 1985, however, around 2500 Greek Cypriots left the village. Although the Greek-Cypriot population is now mainly elderly and shrinking in size, they are still supplied by the UN, and Greek-Cypriot products are consequently available in some places." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rizokarpaso

@@GabrielTravelerVideos it's it's still kind of strange how they've maintained it for the Greek people there I guess the remaining people who live there but they still have the availability to see these things there they could have easily knocked them down and not doing anyting. @@wilfredotorres6628 It’s not uncommon for the Turks to defile elements of culture which they do not respect and claim “ownership” of the works of other cultures when they find it beneficial. In the occupied part of the island, few stand and many have been converted to mosques or demolished. UN has imposed sanctions to the occupied territory thus no cell service direct flights or boat transportation. Sadly, it has become a Turkish Provence. While Gabe is taking his videos and makes his living an entire nation is mourning! FREE CYPRUS! Unify the island from the Turkish occupation with 45.000 troops! 50 years of occupation are too long!

More like D-jam-ee, with the emphasis on -ee and (considering the "opening" of the word) the -D and -j,combined together,spelled really heavy, like Djibouti,for example. I'm pretty sure that the Turkish people spell it like this, because we use the same word in greek language
