One Day Landscape Job - E2 - Simple Low Maintenance Design - In this video I do a simple landscape design install on a small city lot. They wanted very low maintenance plants. I also relocated plants that the builder had installed to a more appropriate location.

I like that you were able to re-purpose the plants. It really burns me up when I see landscapers just dig up plants and toss them out. Don't get me wrong, if something is dead, diseased or can't be saved, that's another story. But these were perfectly useful plants. They look great in their new home! And even if this homeowner didn't want them, someone else may. Waste not, want not!

I agree 100%. I hate to see healthy plants killed just because the homeowner has another idea. Repurpose or give away, but dont kill them. :)

Very enjoyable to watch. Thank you. Just so happens I planted three Golden privit this evening here in southern Indiana. Hoping to screen part of front Street and neighbor to give my no dig organic cottage garden a little more of a cozy feeling. The soil is heavy clay so I mixed in a little composted leaves. Has been raining last few days so soil was pretty wet. Now to recover my poor 71 yr old body.😄

Loved the repurposing of the screening plants from front to backyard.. curious on your spacing for those as they seemed very close. I am about to plant a bunch of ligustrum recurvifolium along my side fence as screening, keeping them no higher than 8ft tall and 6ft out into the yard from the fence Was planning on planting 6ft apart.. is that too far apart?

Question for you: How did you clear the land of weeds/grass in the areas you were going to work? Looks like you had already (or someone) designated what would be going where and the areas you intended to work in, but did you lay tarps or something to smother what was there since they are all brown and ready or? When would that aspect come into a project like this?

Recently turned on to your channel Jim, great content! I am in northern GA, Zone 7b and the front of my 2005-era house (which faces directly West so it gets the morning+afternoon sun) is sort of similar to this project one in the video. We have builder-installed Japanese Cleyera and Boxwoods against the foundation and have empty space in front of the Cleyeras. China roses are popular in our development which I love but looking for something flowering, fragrant, and evergreen to go with both shrubs. Suggestions are welcome!! I was thinking something like Camellias or Gardenias?

How do I find someone to help me landscape my house. I am in a new house. Do not like what they put in. What I put in because I can’t find help from anyone around here. I’m north of Dallas past McKinney. I’m used to Southern California. I do not understand outdoor plants in an 8B zone I believe. Please help or suggest something. The gardening stores say its $850.00 to just come look because they do not offer that service. Can you please make suggestion? I said I’d hire them and pay for the plants and labor. But I’ve never been told a gardening store that’s all they do do not offer that service. That’s ridiculous. That’s to come out, because they say they don’t do it. Not any gardening center like Home Depot they don’t even know what gets planted where, no help what so ever. I’m beside myself. I buy a new construction they didn’t plant nice things. I want to do the entire front back and sides. I’ve called independent gardeners honestly most or none I’ve found don’t speak English. Thank you so much 🙏
