Marlon Brando directing himself ! It was done professionally well by him not trying to steal scenes from other actors especially Carl Malden. I personally wish he had directed more films but his legacy as the greatest male actor will reign supreme .

One of the best westerns I've ever watched is unquestionably this one. Not just a wonderful western, but also a fantastic film. All of the actors gave convincing performances, but Karl Malden really stood out to me over Brando.

Che grande film!!! Con un Marlon Brando del genere, non si può aspettarsene di più. Sembra che il regista l'abbia preparato apposta proprio per lui su misura. E che stupenda storia d'amore!!! Sembra una realtà e non si trattasse di un film. Le sfumature sono di un ottimo soggetto, con un surreale altamente qualificato. Vendette e vendette, ma poi subentra la legge, e poi di nuovo i tradimenti umani che spuntano come le ciliegine sulla torta. Insomma è un film che ti lascia un sospiro da mozzafiato. Grazie mille per la condivisione.

What a great movie!!! With such a Marlon Brando, one cannot expect more. It seems that the director has prepared it especially for him to measure. And what a beautiful love story!!! It looks like a reality and it wasn't a movie. The nuances are of a very good subject, with a highly skilled surreal. He sold and sold, but then the law takes over, and then again the human treachery that crops up like the icing on the cake. In short, it is a film that leaves you with a breathtaking sigh. Thank you so much for sharing.

I am glad to see this film in high definition, it is one of my favorite films. Brando did a great job directing and acting. My respect for Brando for putting this cast together. Well made film and truly entertaining.

This is easily one of the best westerns I have ever seen. And not just a great western but a great movie. Convincing performances by the entire cast; even more than Brando, Karl Malden impressed me. There's only one point that bothered me, the conversations in Spanish that lacked subtitles in English. Maybe the producers never thought their westerns would be watched in India or in places outside the American continents. That did not detract from the movie, however, as the context and the actors' skills made the meaning clear.

Marlon Brando hat in seiner Karriere wohl nur insgesamt eine Rolle gespielt, und die hieß Marlon Brando! Und diese Rolle hat er immer wieder hervorragend gespielt. Und Karl Malden ist wohl der Gesetzeshüter schlechthin ;)

che bel film. Troppo avanti coi tempi. Marlon Brando ha inventato un nuovo genere e nessuno lo ha compreso. Lo chiamarei neorealismo western, ma è molto di più. Scene stupende, moderne, originali. Ambientarlo al mare è stata un'idea geniale. Fotografia stupenda, dialoghi sintetici e raffinati come diamanti. Peccato davvero non sia stato capito.

Obra maestra absoluta, nunca sabremos que hubiera hecho Kubrick pero Brando dirigió su primera y única película y su genio como actor también tuvo eco en la dirección. Impresionante, un western de venganza único en la historia del cine con tintes de tragedia griega.

O título desse filme no Brasil é A face oculta. Foi o único faroeste de toda a carreira de Marlon Brando, o que apenas por isso o torna extremamente interessante. Mas nem de longe é o melhor da trajetória do grande ator.
