This is kind of ironic. But when i was in boy scouts. The leaders didn't like swiss army knives because kids would constantly asking, whats this for? Whats that for? And even the scout leaders didn't know what half of those tools were used for. But what is so smart about that knife is that every tool has multiple uses. Your creativity is the only limits. They are way more useful than a typical leatherman style multi tool. Those things are usually a joke woth 4 or 5 one use tools packed into the handles of pliers.

@@enlightenedpreparingep4006 yeah, I don't even know because I got out of it after a few years. I just kind of got old enough to do that stuff on my own so I just quit going. But I can imagine that it's nothing like it used to be. Do you even have to earn your badges or do they just give them out for participating like they do in little league sports?

@@IdentityCrisis1581I don't know about today. But in the early 2000s it was what we would call normal. I shot my first gun at camp around that time. We all had swiss army knives at that time it was kind of standard.

@@DWmaniac4n6 yeah it was pretty normal in the late 80's early 90's when i was in. Nothing weird or creepy ever happened to me. It was really just a bunch of red neck dads teaching their kids about the outdoors in a structured way. It was pretty fun, But i still cant tie knots. I never got that badge. But I can make a fire with anything you hand me.

For the buck knife, once you have it partially open, grasp the sides of the blade firmly and quickly pull your hand up. Depending on how tight the spring is, it will either open fully or most of the way. You can press the handle against your leg to finish opening it.

I should hope that a better Leatherman Tool like the Wave would become your preferred Go To MultiTool, but after much frustrating effort and suffering you'll become adept and creative even with an SAK. Used to work with a guy who lost one arm. I swore he got to a point where he could do more with his one arm and his old fashion prosthetic arm than I could with two good ones. If I recall correctly, the US Army paid for months of PT.

We have the same sort of nanny statism here in OZ where you can only carry a SAK with a justifiable reason (being a handy tool is not a legitimate reason).

Now that you have shown the world how to open them with one hand, under UK lae they are now offensive weapons. So carry one, and if the police search you and find it, you will get an automatic 3 months jail sentence. As evodence for the prosecution they need only regerence your vid... Hmm 😢
