One last cast, I've never said that before hehe. Well that was worth it, shows that you can go as simple as you can without fuss of plumbing up floats setting up leads and disturbing ur swim with them. You know what, I think I'm going to give free lining ago next time out. I've got 6lb fluorocarbon on reel so straight through to hook. Gives a bit of weight to pin line on deck and won't spook fish. Yes deffo cheers for this vid got me itching to go and do it now. Tight lines mate.

I find evenings are the best time, the fish often move into the margins looking for food. Thanks for your comment and the best of luck.

We saw an experienced carp angler pull 3 good sized carp , including a 25 pounder, out of the pond we fish. The next 2 to 3 weeks, we fished the same spots, with the same rig (method feeder) and the same pack bait (what we call it in the US). We got 0 bights after 2 - 3 weeks. Do you have any suggestions for us?

Try different bait, carp become suspicious of bait they have been caught on. If possible, use a variety not available in the local tackle shops and then don't tell anyone.

Great film as usual.. But i wonder what fish you call F1:s ?
@AmateurAngling

F1's are a crucian carp, common carp hybrid.

I can not understand why any fishing club would choose to stock a lovely old lake like this one with F1s, a hybrid that is is inferior in appearance to both its parent species, crucian carp and common carp. They don't grow as big as commons and are far less attractive than true crucians. Having said that, this is a really nice film that captures the true spirit of angling.

@@portcullis5622 Worse still if you live in the USA. I moved here from Feltham Surrey. I was astounded to find out that carp are considered to be a trash fish. I won't call them anglers but these fishermen often throw a carp up the bank to get rid of it. Later on I found out why. Many Americans do not normally fish just for the pleasure of it. They eat the fish. Carp taste awful although I understand that in China and Poland they are a delicacy. still, it's hard to believe that carp could ever be considered to be a trash fish but there you are.
