This has got to be one of the best pieces for me on this channel. The first half paints an illustrious image of someone merilly recounting stories and fond memories they had together, a bond that particularly feels extremely powerful. In comparision, the second half feels like the sudden realisation that they'll never get to make new memories with them, nor be able to joke about old ones. That everything you've ever known, and all of the experiences you have shared have come to an end. You know that sinking feeling you get when you're depressed or you feel like something bad is going to happen and it feels like an abyss has opened up within the pits of your gut? This is what this part sounds like to me, the feeling of sinking in a pit of anguish after realising they're no longer with you and those memories are all you'll have left of them until it's your time to go. And then the conclusion of the song where we go back to the joyful reminiscence but with that added hint of sorrow, it reminds me of someone trying to move on but the underlying pain and sorrow is still there because you just cared too much and are far too attached to let it go.

Might give slight spoiler from the main game story. Assuming the image is Lumine that is not the Princess of the Abyss (Player chosen character), she is walking towards to someone who is dearly to her, I can assume someone important in her life, but lets just say that it might be her twin brother Aether Prince of the Abyss (who turns to be your enemy if you didn't choose him as your player), both siblings fought against each other and Aether died and Lumine won the fight, but she didn't feel like it's a victory, but rather she lost someone she have dearly in her life, upon visiting the funeral wearing in a black dress version of her original outfit but with some changes and holding a flower from khaenri'ah that's called Inteyvat, which Aether gave Lumine and put in her head, the flower does not wither away if it gets out of the said country like time stopped and becomes like an ornament/accessory, but if it gets back to the place it originated from it continues to live and the time continues, although this time it's not in her hair anymore like it used to be and she is holding a bouquet of those flowers, if we take it to account that the funeral is taking on Mondstadt, the flower won't wither away, so she's giving that flower to Aether like he did to her when he was alive Kinda sad if you think deep about it, you had to do what needs to be done and you can't do both, so either join Aether or fight Aether to stop what he was about to do that might end the world, he broke out from the seal 500 years before Lumine did, so he experienced a lot of emotion in that time until it is Lumine's turn, Aether probably didn't much have interaction to people in his time while Lumine is still sealed away after what happened to khaenri`ah and his only companion is a person who was cursed to live forever, so he have justification on what he is trying to do, just that it's conflicting on what Lumine is trying to do since she experienced emotion that is mostly happy and interacted a lot of people that is still alive that's why she wants everyone to be saved, that's why they had to fight against each other. I am not good at making what would be their conversation, so you need to imagine what would they be saying while they are fighting and even after the fight.
