Wow nice ...... black traditional cloth wore by guys is same as zelianrong traditional clothes for guys. So related.

The particular shawl presented to the host couple signified or symbolise of wealth...and can be worn only by those wealthy men amongst the community who had performed various rites and rituals and giving merit feast to the whole villagers... Its a toboo that the common men are prohibited to wear the particular shawl and only the Pagans performs such practices and traditions till date amongst the Poumai Naga Tribe.

Just because we're Christians doesn't mean that our tradition & culture be ignored completely. We can continue the tradition in good ways, can't we?

The shawl symbolises wealth and is prohibited to the common man. But I don't see any relation to differ with religion.

I don't know about christian context but according to the pagans like I've said they have to perform so many rites and rituals to attain or own that shawl.. During the process the rituals includes like fasting and observing the day slaughtering of cub and buffalos, erecting of merit feast stone and it goes on.. I'm just sharing what I know not much to debate.. And ur point of view is also right.

@@lichanyanthan5684 The nagas before the coming of britishers we're all pagans and till date there are some few set of people who profess it. So yea might be in the chakhesang tribe or community they all converted to Christianity probably.

It's not to debate but to discuss . Let's just say that it's not taken/practiced as rites or rituals. Rather is taken as a tradition.
