Over one million Irish people gather at Dublin's Phoenix Park for an open-air mass with His Holiness Pope John Paul II. The crowd bursts into a rapturous applause when the Pope's helicopter comes into sight. It's believed to be the largest gathering of people in Ireland's history - September 1979. Music is by Frank Patterson.

I was 12 , went with a group, I ended up getting lost when we were leaving, I was crying like a baby! But I had a great time I don't think we will ever have a poe like John Paul 11, there was something saintly about him, he gave off a godly euro, and seeing him was enough to make you feel close to god! I cried when he died?! My late brother was named after him and some of nephews and cousins, my mother and aunts and grandparents all had his picture hanging up on their walls or a medal with his face on it! RIP POPE JOHN PAUL, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED!🇨🇮

The saint who moved and hid child rapists to protect them from the law. So they could continue to abuse. What a saint

Pope John Paul II was an extraordinary man and a wonderful Pope. Amazing to see the crowds but how sad to see Ireland now, nearly 40 years later. It reminds me of 2 Thessalonians 3 - "Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition". Perhaps we are nearly upon the threshold?

@@jamesmwenda5427 is that the god that deemed it acceptable for children to be sexually abused by clerics. Is that the same god that stood by while 795 children were buried in unconcecrsted ground in the bins secours mother and baby home in Tuam County Galway and 224 children buried in the Mount Jerome cemetery Dublin from the church of ireland run Bethany mother avd baby home. How much money did the church run adoption societies make from taking babies from single mothers avd sending them to the USA for adoption. I am adopted myself, unplanned, born outside marriage . Speaking to birth mothers as I have done, none of them wanted thier children taken away. The nuns avd priests were brutal.

@@Fcutdlady I know this is painful, we can't forget the struggles that the Irish people have undergone. But again I really feels that parents made big mistakes of forcing their children to be priests and nuns without their wish,I know this very well from interactions with some Irish people. All in all,the societies got some evil things everywhere. I believe u need to forgive ur brothers and sisters.

John Paul II who kissed the Muslim Koran, held the blasphemous Assisi Day of Prayer with false religions and assumed the leadership of the Vatican II Counter Church of Apostacy from Christ. Many have been decieved by this Vatican II Novus Ordo religion. Turn to the Traditional Catholic Faith and Pray the Rosary.
