Throwback time: A re-upload of a video I did 4 years ago, back when I was in the middle of my original, very successful run as KZfaqr woodenships82. Always had liked this one.
Only just now put it back up partly because of, I guess, the residual disappointment I've had over this video having been blocked for nearly all of the 2 years it was up on the original channel. When you put effort and time into something, things like that can really bog you down.
Mentally, I banished the video for what Universal had done to it. As such, I only just a short time ago re-discovered this and felt it worthy enough of a second shot at the public eye. So, I hope it's enjoyable!

It's 2019, this has to be one of skynyrd ' s finest songs. It sounds as fresh now as it did in the 70s. The melody is awesome the lyrics thought provoking. Long live southern rock. Who agrees? ?. Greetings from the "south" of England.

The strange thing about this song is when it was put on the 77 street survivors album it was from a old collection of Ronnie’s favorites before the band we knew and loved no piano only Gary and there was a different guitar player not Allen or Steve or even Ed different drummer too I think 1969 or 70

Skynyrd's first album came out in 1973. Street Survivors came out in 1977, the same year that the plane crash happened. So the original Lynyrd Skynyrd only last about 4 years, yet look at all of the great music they put out. Just imagine what they could have done had that plane crash not happened.

As much airplay this band gets, there are the exceptional songs that tend to get lost in the woodwork, and this is one of those gems. Much like their "I Need You", "Curtis Loew", and even "Things Going On". I appreciate everything they did for Rock N' Roll and for all the people they made a connection with. These guys imbibe all that quintisencially ROCK! As much as some of my friends give harsh criticism to this group, I give nothing but the highest honors. ROCK on Skynyrd! Your the South's best!!!!!!

This song tears me up every time i listen to it. Between the solo and a few of the lyric lines it makes me think of the only woman i ever loved. She passed in Oct of 2016 at 49. Its hard to explain but the solo is graceful. Graceful like the way she flowed when she walked or when older folks eyes lit up when they saw her and wanted to chat. She grew up in Andrews North Carolina and her love of life, way, and "Connie-isms" changed my life. She was in my life for a 6 months before the diognosis. I lived more in that time than the 48 years before. We could talk or not say a word and it was just right. She was the most amazing person God ever graced this planet.

Another year. I couldnt get the 500mi to get to her resting sight. After the first trip i felt joy she was there physically on that hillside with her daddy. Next trip affirmed that her soul is above. The real sorrow stopped when in the most vivid dream she told me shes ok. Now 5 years later I'm more lost than before i met her. Besides work feel like invisable anywhere i go.

Thank you. I never heard this song until a trip down there 2 years ago(2018) The second it came on i was pulled into in. The line "girl you got me hungry" hit me like a rock. She made me hungry to really live. The solo is her. I swear a moment in time when she flowed accross the floor at her daughters weddin reception. Appreicate you read my ramblings.

There are two hidden gems on this iconic Street Survivors album. The other being: "I never dreamed". I bought the album which was released with the flames on the cover, soon to be pulled. Much to my delight, when you played one song, you could then flip the album over and play the other one. To this day I listen to "One More Time" and "I never Dreamed". . .as much as possible. Seems so long ago and yet this music will live forever.

There’s one tune on Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s fifth studio album Street Survivors that stood out from all the others. Recorded six yeas prior to Street Survivors‘ 1977 release, “One More Time” was originally from Skynyrd’s 1971 Muscle Shoals demo. So while the other recordings on Street Survivors feature band members Steve Gaines, Artimus Pyle, and Leon Wilkeson, the recording of “One More Time” has Ed King, Rickey Medlocke, and Greg Walker in their places. It is believed that the “One More Time” recording was added to the album after they decided to drop one of the tracks they had previously intended on using. We always love hearing Skynyrd’s demos, because it gives us the chance to listen to them in their most natural state. Ronnie Van Zant‘s raw vocals really stand out in this track, and show off the true depth of his talent. Lyrically, “One More Time” is a work of art. Written by Ronnie and guitarist Gary Rossington, the song is told from the perspective of a man who has been lied to by the woman he loves. However, the man just can’t seem to resist her, so he invites her back into his life “one more time.” It’s a situation that many people are familiar with, but Ronnie and Gary managed to turn it into a musical masterpiece through “One More Time”: “I know I’m playin’ with fire, Get burned every time. Yes I’m a fool for you baby I can’t deny. But I got to have your sweet love, One more time, one more time.” Now that you’ve read about the history and story behind it, tune in below to listen to “One More Time.” It goes without saying that it’s a song you’ll want to play over and over again.

This is a technically brilliant song. Aside from the virtually flawless lyrics, the precision the instruments blending together blows me away. Wonderfully engineered. I always loved the way Leon "Thumper"Wilkeson put bass runs behind that guitar army. He was so damn gifted. You can hear it here --clear as a bell. Btw, in the very beginning of this vid, there's original bassist Larry Jungstrom. The "1%" days. I wonder if he regrets not staying longer in the band.

I picked up the Street Survivors album as soon as it came out, and played it in its entirety. This song was immediately my standout fave. It halted me in my tracks because it was so different in texture from the rest of the material. When I read the credits, I knew why. Ed King played on it. Both Ed and Steve brought a lot to the Skynyrd party, but I always preferred Ed’s style. RIP, buddy. Your contribution was huge!

@matchpoint Well, we're both right in this case. Ed had left the band during the "torture tour" in support of their third album. One More Time was an outtake from the sessions for one of the earlier albums. Read your Street Survivors album liner and you'll see that Ed is credited as guitarist on the song.

This is one of my top five favorites of Lynyrd Skynyrd. I know of two versions of it, the one with more electric guitar which is played here and then we’re acoustic version that they originally did. I learned how to play it in the mid 90s and it’s always brought happiness to my heart. Ronnie sings his heart out as does Gary playing the acoustic. God bless them all. RIP

The song "One More Time" was added to the album, presumably after it was decided to drop one of the two tracks above. However, this song is the original recording from their 1971 Muscle Shoals demo; it was not re-recorded for this album. Hence it features Ed King, Greg Walker and Rickey Medlocke in place of Steve Gaines, Leon Wilkeson and Artimus Pyle. Also, Al Cooper on background vocals.

One More Time How can you stand there smilin' After all you've done You know it seems to make you happy When you've hurt someone Twice before you fooled me With your deceivin' and lyin' Come in and close the door One more time, one more time Yeah you've been gone so long No one knows where And you said that you still love me Then show me you care 'Cause you've got what it takes sweet mama To make a man feel fine So I'll take the word of a liar One more time, one more time Girl you've got me hungry Losin' my mind I know I'm playin' with fire Get burned everytime Yes I'm a fool for you baby I can't deny But I've got to have your sweet love One more time, one more time Girl you've got me hungry Losin' my mind I know I'm playin' with fire I get burned everytime Yes I'm a fool for you mama But I can't deny Well I've got to have your sweet love One more time, one more time Yes I'm her fool once more I can read her brown eyes When the rooster crows tomorrow Well it's her turn to cry I'm headed down that old road She lost her free ride So tonight I'll take what I paid for One more time, one more time One more time By Lynyrd Skynyrd

Can't nobody sing a song like Ronnie Van Want. And Gary Rossington added his own special magic to every song. The two of them together were beyond magical, they were otherworldly, so good it is almost incomprehensible. RIP GARY ROSSINGTON 💔🎸🦅🎶 I will never forget you and I will love you forever. 🌹❤️✝️💕🕊️❣️🌹. 3/5/23.

Knebworth 1976. They weren't supposed to go out onto that stage extension as that was made exclusively for the Rolling Stones. They went out on it anyway. Mick Jagger supposedly threw a fit.

@@montbob100 They formed their first band in 1964 so I have always wondered about all the songs they might have written before they decided to name the band LS. I wouldn't even know how to find out if there is any music from their early years that we would all love to hear. R.I,P. GARY ROSSINGTON 🎸🦅💕💕💕🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏✝️🕊️❣️❣️❣️❣️🌹🌹🌹🌹💕💕💕💕🇺🇲💕💕💕💕3/5/23.

I truly love this song. Ronnie can never be replaced, not even by his no-talent brother, Johnny. Ronnie was Lynyrd Skynyrd and without him, it just isn’t the same. I I know that Ronnie is indeed a free bird now, may he Rest In Peace. He can never be replaced. All of those talented, hard-working boys are gone now, except for Gary and Artimus. They came together at just the right and worked their magic, and we in my generation were privileged to see and hear it. But, they live on through their unparalleled music, and it helps me get through each day. When my time comes , I sincerely hope that I will meet Ronnis, Leon,, Bob, Billy,, Allen, Steve and Cassie and what a thrill that would be! Until that time, the music they left behind will have to do. All of them were immensely talented, but Ronnie was the force to be reckoned with, the leader, the inspiration, without which Lynyrd Skynyrd would never have become the terrific band they were.

Ronnie wanted Johnny to take over his spot. He told Ed King and Gary both that. He believed himself Johnny was a better singer than him or Donnie. Johnny said himself he could never had replaced Ronnie, and never tried to. Ronnie became a Legend and A Icon the evening that plane crashed in that Swamp. No one could ever follow that. Ronnie would have been very proud of his baby brother. He would also have been so proud of the Skynyrd fans who kept the music alive all these years!
