Haha yeah this is also the first thing I tried half a year ago, and uploaded it cause I thought it might go viral... Well haha

I am not criticizing you either, but don´t tell me, that PROPPER James Hype transitions, and mate, this isn´t one, are easy. For the public it might sound "the same", but if you call this speed and accuracy a "james hype" transition, you still got a lot to learn brother. Took me one year, of 30mins a day practice for just this transition, and even mine don´t sound perfect yet. Trust me mate, the better you will become, the more you will realize how bad these early transitions of yours you believed you "did well" actually were. By no means am I trying to insult you, just saying that you will one day soon, become a lot better, and you´ll look back at my comment and realize I was right. Speaking from my own experience. Head up, keep working, you´ll get there

and to avoid sounding cocky, and actually give some propper advice, the correct technique is slamming the fader with your index+middle finder, and using your thumb as a rebound (think of turntablism, they use the same technique for the cross-fader). If you are moving your entire hand, you are limiting yourself to about half speed. The true speed, is probably double of what the OP showed us. You also use the tempo/pitch fader set to "WIDE" and move it towards +100% as you aproach the drop while doing the fader stutter, this creates the buildup. If you wanna to do it the "pro" way, you also add a "noise" fx and alternate between increasing the tempo/pitch and increasing the pitch of the noise. It´s a lot more complex than this, hope I could give some helpful tips, besides my "criticism" :D

Nice thank you for the detailed criticism :o I added a noise effect pre drop and your right with the volume fader slamming yeah and the tempo fader is optional cause james didn't use it in the early way of this transition which I tried to recreate... Its linked in the description

@@JJMusicDJ you´re completely right. His early transitions were far far worse than his current ones. It was a nice thing to do sure, he was probably the first to use it in house, altough i am pretty sure Yamato did something simmilar before James Hype, but if you compare the James Hype today to his very first videos, it´s like seeing him in his toddler days. He´s come so far, and if we, house dj´s wanna have any chance to one day be up there and be even just the openers, we have to not only keep up, but actually be better. The worst thing that can happen, is be like "the real SD" and have everyone call you "the second james hype". I think that brother has a lot of talent, but he never does anything new, only stuff JH already did.

@@JJMusicDJ fact yes. You can learn from others' techniques, then develop your own from that. Tbh, i'm also copying one of my fav dj's technique (Alaguan), and also learned lots from him, but trying to develop myself to have my own unique techniques
