One more try at solving the Mini T crazy steering, so that I can sell it with a clear conscience.

The Mini T has been bumped from the list of interesting projects a few times in the past years, so it has mostly been sitting. That means that every time grand kids are around I have been hesitant to pull it out, knowing it would be hard to start. Those little chineseium carburetors are notoriously short lived. Add to that my feeling of failure on the steering design led me to my current position. Let's fix it once and for all and let it go to a new home.

Poppy dont sell that little jewel , kiddos can have fun with that out at the property when they get older. That's a project that those kids can be proud of knowing you built it

Paul Thanks for your comment. I was considering bringing the car to the country but I will have to figure out a dry place to store it. The wedding tent barn is already pretty full.

You dug a pretty big hole when you built that front end but there is a way to have suspension & have it steer "reasonable" with what you have. Taking one of the tie rods off the rack & pinion makes the remaining one a draglink then make a one piece tie rod to connect both steering arms. Delete the spring shackle on the same side the draglink is now on & mount the spring eye in a solid pivot on the axle & that basically makes a Panhard link.

It would have been nice if you would have been over at my shop when I was building this thing! I spent quite a few hours building, rebuilding, and rerebuilding. I don’t have your knowledge for sure but I have a lot more than I had going in. Thank you for watching and thanks for the information. Barry

@@barrylukebuilds7894 Adventurous people are all on some sort of a learning curve, we don't know what we don't know! The kids are always going to remember this little car.

If I had a vote, it would be for sell the car. Good video Barry. We had 16F here yesterday morning outside of Mobile.

Thanks Robin. Everyone wants to keep the car except the one who keeps it running. We had 19 here, a little lower in Osyka. Anxious to check out the damage.
