I was raised in a family of long time Dem voters, so I bought into the propaganda and the fear (at the time though there was some concern because the churches were a lot more influential in the right back then) but idk it just feels like after the fight for gay marriage was won, after that long fought battle was a resounding victory for our side, it's like the activism of promoting the idea of oppression was already a booming business. Activists keep getting more and more radical and coming up with off the wall stuff to "fight for". Stuff that didn't exist before. Surely you've noticed how the "activist types" have taken over the voice of the Trans community? The ones telling anyone who will listen every single day that there is "trans genocide" happening or that "the right is out to stop transitioning for all trans people " or stuff like that. It is ALWAYS stuff to induce fear and is always either flat out made up, or is a lie wrapped in a half-truth. It absolutely breaks my heart to see what the trans community is now. To see how we are now viewed as such troublemakers, increasingly violent, selfish, demanding respect but not giving respect. The intolerance to any view other than the currently approved opinions that change all the time. Any of us that dissent from the narrative are cut out of the discourse, treated less than human. I don't know how you are going to respond to this or if you even will as I realize it is a long comment and you're not obligated to read it nor respond but just the one thing I want to convey most in this comment is that I hope that even if you think everything I said so far is just bs, I still hope that my love for the community is abundant and I wanna see my people flourishing and happy and not being tricked into activism and being used by politicians for them to get votes.
