2 жыл бұрынPottery is a traditional industry in Gaza, supported by families like Sabri Atallah's. But decades of armed conflict and political strife have put these artisans' livelihoods at risk. We visited Sabri Atallah & Sons Pottery Factory before, during, and after the May 2021 attacks to see how he is keeping the craft alive.
Sabri only sells his pottery locally and does not have a website.

As a child in the 1950s I saw lots of potters working out on the streets. I was fascinated by the process and the skills involved. In school I was required to work clay several times. I never managed to produce anything I was proud of.

As others have mentioned, you can't buy this family's pottery because of the blockade of Gaza. HOWEVER, you can buy pottery made in the west bank of Palestine. I know this because I bought a pair of dipping bowls made in the west bank as part of a mother's day gift for my mom. I got them from Serrv, an american fairtrade store that has a whole collection of West Bank ceramics, although I'm sure you can find Palestinian ceramics in other stores as well.

Hamas fires rockets into Israel from inside neighborhoods. Modern military equipment can identify and locate the position from where mortar fire, rockets originate, the Israeli Army counter fires on that location but typically these rockets are mobile or rudimentary launched and by the time the IDF counter fire the terrorists have moved on to another location.

no actually... some war like Palestine and Israel is about territory... they both won't stop until someone is defeated... When Israel want to occupy all of the Palestine fully, Palestinian want to take back what lost from them... soo there will be no stop until someone win... this is like Germany in WWII they want to expand their territory... and they won't stop.. until they lost... most war is just like that... it just soo hard to stop it... maybe they can declare peace... but peace is not an easy option... it's not just signing some paper, the government of the occupier country must give something to the occupied country, based on the deal that they make, and some country just not like peace by signing paper...

I know quite a few person's have asked how can we support especially given the strict measures imposed but I really hope their could be a go fund me account set up (if possible) .We could attractively contribute towards keeping the craft alive ,more than anything thou I'd like some of those pottery.
