I bought this watch in around 2012-13ish (original orange numerals and hands with the black strap) and I just found it in a box at the parents house. I can wholeheartedly confirm that setting it had me punching air. Such a pain but I think that's what I get for leaving it in a box for about 10 years. Now that it's set, runs perfect.

Congratulations on joining the club. I ordered mine from Italy over 7 years ago and have loved it since the day I got it. It really has lived through lots of activities that no other watch would survive, and it looks great doing it! Nice review.

Great review. I've had this one and only watch for last 10 years. It's been through everything, serious watch abuse and it's been going with no issues. Now that I'm looking for a new watch, I can't find anything that I'm willing to replace this with. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks for the vid

I'm gonna order one. I've looked at all the vids, nothing good to assist with setup. Might be one of the more complicated but it only has to be done once. You can still get these for 225-250 usd.

I've got it like 4 years already, yet I still have a problem setting the time and changing the time zone between Germany and Bangkok. As you said, it's a pain in the ass to setup 😑

Totally agree. Got mine 6 years probably now and everytime I need to change DST setting I have to look it up on how to do it. It’s not user friendly.

can be bought on amazon..prob you will have is getting the screws out..seems to be a special flat head driver..check to see if you can get them out before spending cash ..i want to put a bracelet on mine

I have this watch. One of my favourites, I really do love the orange however the orange strap does pick up dirt quite quickly. I have mine on a black strap at the moment it really gives it a different look! If you really like the watch Mavs dad then I really do recommend picking up the black strap. Loving your content dude. 👍

It sets daylight saving time on its own, whatever country you go to it adjusts itself.

If you take a G shock that has the atomic clock and hang it on a metal bar it will get reception

Hey there. Question. Seeing that it uses atomic time, how does the date window handle changing from month to month? Did it know when Feb changes to March or March turns to April? And the date correctly changes back to the 1st for the next month?

The atomic feature time takes care of both time & date.

There is a way of setting up the month and year for perpetual calendar, that's why he's saying that the setup is a bit of a pain.

For additional info, 1 day may not be enough. Sometimes it could take up to 5-10 days. The 2nd time it happened to me it took that long. I was afraid it won't be revived, but it did.

Just get it. It wears smaller than figures suggest. And for the strap..there is black resin and even metal bracelet is available.

@@maverickwatchreviews I have this watch in olive green and gold... Even the strap is olive green... I've wanted a black resin strap or grey or some other dark colour... Any links would help... And, it was a pain in the ass to setup... Infact, the dealership didn't even have a manual for this watch as it had been sitting in their showcase for about ten odd years... 😂Can you believe that? Somehow I was destined to own this one... And got this one for a significant discount... I just don't like the strap colour... But damn good watch man... Again, great reviews... Keep it up...

🤔 I don't know what to think about it. To me a G-Shock has to be a digital watch not an analog one. Awesome and useful features for sure but the dial is so packed with stuff (which I usually see on Citizen models) that I'd prefer a cleaner digital watchface. But that's just me.

I have one.. Yes it is really a pain in the ass when you want to set it up.. Then forget the accuracy and the battery afterwards.. So far I didnt set it up again since I bought this four years ago...
