This is one of the nicest Seiko models you can buy without buying a Grand Seiko branded model. The fit/finish on this titanium sports watch is top level. The dial details are excellent. The accuracy of the true gmt spring drive caliber is impressive. There is a lot to love, and not a lot to complain about with this limited edition. It is on my shortlist.

I love that style of case, and heavily "knurled" bezel. Those lines are razor sharp. What a beauty. Many are upset by Seiko's push up-market. Personally, I'm a fan of the move. Thanks for sharing it Bruce

I baught the SNR029 three weeks ago, I always wanted the MM300, but I preferred something light that I could wear everyday, and spring drive is something else that I wanted from Seiko, and I got both in one watch!

Hello stephen, planning on getting one too. I have the sla021 but seems like the snr029 is the apex version of the mm300. Haha. That's an awesome watch you got there.

Maybe it's just one of those you have to see in person. Or maybe too many people are hung up on the fact that it's Seiko branded and not grand seiko

@@BruceWilliams I think you are spot on with the branding thing, especially with the rest of the comment responses. As a collector I could give a shit if it says Grand Seiko or Seiko. At the end of the day the LX line is produced in the same studio, by the same individuals as Grand Seiko. I understand though that some want the GS name on their wrist for the price

I love seiko but my personally i can spend a little bit more for GS but not the high end seiko. Anyway love to see your watch review, keep it up mate👍👍

I just added the SNR049 to the watchbox. Impressive! Not quite GS level finishing, but really damn close under loupe. The timekeeping is 1 second fast/week, so nothing held back on the 5R66. The micro-adjust is terrific (surprised to hear it is not included on the SNR051)! I don't know why GS refuses to put one on their bracelets. Of my two GS in my collection, one has been shifted to leather, and the other, still on bracelet, only gets worn on the days were the wrist is likely to remain a constant size throughout the day. The only thing that I am still coming to grips with is the lack of "Grand" to accompany the "Seiko" on the dial. At a little over $4K, it seems a bit... odd. A lot of watch for the money, and I'm sure its close relative, the SNR051, is no different.

I thought paper too, but I think Citizen beat them to the punch with the Washi dial ( www.citizenwatch-global.com/the-citizen/assets/image/lineup/5sec/02/img1.jpg ). I'm guessing this is Seiko's answer to it? Beautiful either way.

I'm a massive fan of seiko and GS but please seiko can we have some more sports watches at 40mm as there are millions of people with smaller wrists.

I have a 41mm black bay and it’s lug to lug is bigger than the 44mm seiko LX watches I own so it’s about design really you can have 40mm with bug lug to lug distance and it wears larger but those seiko a tad thick but after all they are real tool watches and built for a purpose

@@entroheat I have the bb58 and these dimensions are perfect for me. And even my skx009 was great. 47mm lug to lug is my preference but then there's the dreaded male end link and that can also ruin the fit.

Mine is running about +7 and I was told this is limited to 130pcs. One thing is the scratch resistance coating is not durable I still get hairline scratches. Its kind of interesting that the water resistance is 10bar with a screw down crown but my Grand Seiko has no screw in crown and is 20 bar. Also you missed the micro adjustment that requires no tools. The bracelet is fantastic with some interesting polishing in the middle link. The bezel is a smooth bezel instead of the ratchet type which I prefer. I also wished the blue colored hands were heat treated blue instead of painted. Overall the more I own this piece the more I love it, even more than my Grand Seiko! I was thinking of selling this piece originally, but now that its my favorite watch I no longer consider selling this watch even though I think the value will skyrocket if the 130pcs limitation is true! I hope they never make this watch again because I dont want to see another person with the same watch. This may be the only Seiko I buy because I dont like the accuracy of their mechanical watches unless its a spring drive and spring drive movements bring the price up to Grand Seiko levels which is a shame. By the way, this comes in a nice box, not sure if its wood or plastic but its way better than the box Grand Seiko comes in!

Nice watch! Most of the time can't do seiko dive/sports watches due to thickness, variability in the +/- sec/day. Don't like GS,s. Beautiful but to big, proportions, overly clean, surgical looking, etc. This one interested me though and had to watch the review. Isn't the watch only LE in color only? Everything else is the same as the other LX spring drives? Still just to tall and stubby for me. Enjoy 😉

This is such a beautiful watch...though it is hard to justify $5.5K when you can get a used GS Spring Drive for $4K. But being an LE, I am sure they will sell out anyway, so the price doesn't really matter.

SD on ugly older dressy GS canbe had for low 3k to even high 2k range but this is awesome sporty model I own two of the new LX watches one is the land version and one is the limited Batman’s sky version awesome watches and well worth it at 5k including tax

Grand Seko and Seko are different, they were both owned by the same company until 2017 when Grand Seko separated from Seko

Shame it's only 100m water resistant. Seems very thick for such a low spec watch.

I agree and it has a screw in crown. Although I will never dive with this and I know as a diver recreational diving is limited to 130 ft so I will never reach the depths of 330 ft even if I do go diving with the watch, but realize a lot of people are about the specs when comparing with other watches so I get it.

I would pick a ball watch over this ..for a couple of 1000 less. You get top quality with ball watches ..and the build quality on ball watches is unbelievable . It takes Seiko to the cleaners for value for money

Nice.. but not a $5000 + watch. And the dial, like the snowflake, looks like laminated Tyvek not than the moon or snow. Nice photography.. right watch for some.

I think it's a mistake for this not to be Grand Seiko. Bringing the Spring Drive movement over from GS, makes GS less special IMHO.

So I own both the BB GMT (S&G and the Pepsi) and the SNR051. The SNR051 actually wears thinner than the BB GMT. The quality is higher than the Tudors as well; food for thought Also Bruce mentioned that it has no micro adjustment but it does have micro adjustments in the clasp itself when you squeeze the release buttons.

The movement is far superior than your Tudor's. The watch is also hand finished unlike you Tudor and it is grade 5 Titanium unlike.your Tudor. You'll be able to pick this watch at $4,000 - $4,500 And that is a bargain for the watch you are getting. I don't know why people are complaining that Seiko should have made this watch a Grand Seiko. Do they want to spend $6,500 - $7,000 for the same watch? This is a beautiful watch. I'm obsessed with the dial and the connection to space.

Its a nice watch but....No microadjustment...at THAT PRICE?!?! WTH?!?! Sorry no thankyou. At that price I expect a ratcheting adjustment not none at all. If I really wanted one I would have to replace that clasp but Id have to find it on a deal because of that.

It actually has a ratcheting adjustment. Squeeze both the release buttons in on the clasp and there are 2 ratcheting positions. I picked this piece up in late December of last year, before they technically hit the market

@@ZachFrank714 Oh? Thats cool then. If I could buy those in bulk somewhere for a price I could afford I;d put that clasp on every watch I own. IMO its like a screwdown crown. Every watch with a bracelet should have it in this day and age. I puts adjusting your bbracelet on a whole new level of ease and comfort.
