@@adrianelwin9360 that sbeen happening over a thousand years... that snot the main problem, its mostly chemicals from all sort so factory runoff or discharge and sewage. they have the regulations in place but from what i understand is until recently those regulations were ignored.

I try to imagine ancient times, where rivers were much more cleaner. Although some cultures, or rather said, cities or villages used them for their waste. Still, you cannot compare the amount of trash and feces we produced in ancient times to the modern day

Last month was there too , terrible dirt everywhere, beer bottles, plastics and what not , there are small stalls where maggi and other items are available, and that’s why it has become a mess ,

It's not No waste = No human It's No waste = No moden lifestyle God have provided Nature, which has all that we need to survive. But modern society is blind behind luxurious life or so called comfortable life. But its a myth, we cannot live in the world simply enjoying, the world is designed to be dukahlayam asasvatam (home to problems). Janam, maritu, Jara, vayadi no one can escape from then staying in this planet.

Believe it or not, back in the 80's, you could actually see the bottom of the Ganges in Rishikesh. You could also see fish swimming around. It was that clean. Compare that with today. Why did we allow the river to get so polluted?
