Destiny 2 Lightfall - One of the Coolest Missions Bungie Have Made? Partition: Hard Reset Solo. Just a quick video showing one of the new missions in the post-campaign quests. Details below.
Look, I know the general sentiment towards Lightfall is on the extremely negative side at this stage, and probably rightfully so. There's quite a few things I didn't enjoy myself and was disappointed by. But, I still wanted to give credit where it was due: this mission was genuinely a surprise to see, and done well imo.
A lot of people wanted SRL back, and this mission is more or less that. I like the fast paced nature of it, and the race against time. It's not the most difficult, nor is it the most incredible thing ever. It's still very different from a lot of other content in the game though, and I just wanted to showcase that. I make it a point to rarely ever use titles like this (and will continue to do so), but I feel it was worth it to bring a little attention to a positive at this stage.

The only things that were bad in lightfall are the writing of Osiris, the story; its ambiguity, "radial mast" and constantly talking about the veil as if they knew what it was when I'm pretty sure it's a mystery to everyone, and god damn Nimbus. Just about all the gameplay and level design was more fun than witchqueen IMO, we also have the most insane subclass yet, some really good QOL changes, some really cool new weapon perks, Rohan :(, and I don't even know what the seasonal stuff is like yet, plus I have a buttload of remaining things to get into. People just focus was too hard on the bad. The negativity of this level is wayyyy underserved so far.

It's honestly pretty easy once you get the hang of it and understand it's about going fast. Are you doing it under the recommended power? Someone here said to use a blinding weapon near the bomb and forget about killing. It's a great idea actually.

I've had 0 fun and the worst time I've ever experienced in Destiny playing as a solo player this expansion. This expansion has literally taken all of my excitement or faith in bungie away and I don't even want to play anymore.

Personally I enjoyed playing through Lightfall a lot. The story was pretty touch and go especially at the end (wtf is the veil even???), but the gameplay itself felt great solo on legendary difficulty. Lots of enemies and intense combat on a big scale. My biggest concern is the mod system - it seems incredibly simplified and dumbed down, and running around to collect orbs is annoying af.

GG, I did this mission 30 Light under solo and it took me a very long time and nearly 40 deaths. Mostly me just falling off the map during the sparrow sections. But also me just not playing very smart. You made it look very easy. Lol.

A easy tip: Run a blinding Gl. u can run past everything. Blind the enemies near the bomb and diffuse with zero troubles .

Everybody..watch this video back.. I spotted this today when I did this mission. Forgot to record or make it up to it before it disappeared. 1:06/1:07 there is a person on the pillar to the left. Someone who hasn’t done this yet, needs to get up there and see who that is!

Trying using a good heavy, and i used le monarque, for the bombs i just super rushed it with a glaive while shielding or just wrecking the combatants with a super. use monarque on boss and i kept my super until the very end and destroyed him

Coming back to this that after nearly 2 hours and 37 deaths I completed it. Yes I was under leveled but wanted to do it because of the quest step. I ended up using lucky dashes with my sparrow to complete the first 2 rooms. The third was me saving up my super and getting lucky enough to avoid incoming fire while grappling past the enemies. The boss fight relied on the most horrific cheese strat I have ever used involving a scout rifle from the far platform. Nobody can hit you there and you can wittle down his health slowly.

Seems the gameplay of Destiny is still good it's just the new campaign was very overhyped. "Our end begins" doesn't carry much weight when not much has changed.

@@firecosmos i mean, the witness got a pretty easy w against us in the earth space battle and then it did that thing and got inside the traveller portal which seems very significant, the problem is the story leaves a lot of questions and doesnt really give you the answers, which leads to frustration because people go like "aaaargh i want the answers but ill have to wait until final shape to properly finish the story", what i feel is going to happen is perhaps a year from now when we play the final shape and get a proper conclusion lightfall will get better because playing lightfall and then final shape will be the proper full story

The main thing is that this was supposed to answer a lot of questions or make us question even more. Instead (for me at least and I think byf too see his latest vid) I think it just killed my hype and made me go wait none of this makes sense.... Gameplay was phenomenal tho.

This is one of the worst things to have ever been added to the game. The Person who made it is a twisted psychopath who has never played a video game. There should be nothing even remotely close to a racing segment in Destiny 2, the physics engine, let alone the speeder physics and mechanics, are utterly unsuited to it and actively hinder and sabotage the Player in this mission and any that we are forced to do it in. Every time they force us into the air, every time they force us to swerve on a janky sloped track, is more time on the ticking clock stolen unfairly. Infinite Suffering and woe to the Arch-Devils who made this mission and this expansion.

@@voltus20 No ammount of skill will make the Guns do more damage than they mechanically can or fix the jank Sparrow physics. Sounds like a lack of intelligence issue on your side, you probably haven't played the mission.

@@LordProteus all the timers have at least 20 seconds of wiggle room. Killing enemies extends the timer, killing champions gives you an extra 30 seconds per champion. You are commenting under a video that clearly showcases how it can be done pretty easily. The enemies are pretty weak, compared to other content like dungeons, which are also perfectly soloable. If you are having problems with the enemies, use crowd control weapons, or blind/supression, which completely trivializes pretty much everything. If you are having trouble with the sparrow sections, pace yourself. Learn to dodge to kill your momentum on corners, learn to stop accelerating on certain points to avoid getting launched, and you'll have no problem. Like i said, skill issue.
