This round and fight changed AJs career for the worse. He's never been the same since. Joshua's big mistake was getting greedy and thinking he could stop Ruiz in this round after knocking him down. Truth be told, I always thought Ruiz going down was at least partly due to him being off balance, and not because he was on his way out. And Joshua relying on hooks and short punches on the inside allowed Ruiz to get close and land damaging punches of his own. But to Joshua's credit, he learned from it and didn't make the same mistake in the rematch.
@pricey16358 ай бұрын
No. The Joshua knockdown was the cleanest knockdown in this fight, your other points stand tho. He went in way too fast, Ruiz was a wounded dog, and turned the tables on Joshua. Honestly unbelievable, cos Joshua was all over him. Probably would have continued to be all over challengers if not for this round.

This is right, that was a nuke that caught Andy in an awkward pose and it's really just sheer force that blows him over. This was not the same as a shot that "hurt" Andy which is to say, he was not wobbled, dizzy, shaky aka 'impaired'.

For me this was the fight that ended his dominance. He has never been the same since! He second guesses every punch and barley throws a combination. Up until this round he was raw and wouldn’t mind getting in close and battling! A big shame..

To the commentators credit, Joshua actually did land a fantastic straight right soon after he said that. That being said, he should have been more "composed" because AJ opened up after that punch and got caught on the temple with a left hook that spelled the beginning of the end. He was never the same after that. Heavyweight boxing at it's best.

dummies, who don't understand that boxing is a rigged sports, anthony joshua is doing what he is paid to do, take a fall for a far less inferior fighter in ruiz, anthony joshua was not in the pocket for the first two rounds and part of the 3rd, he kept his distance, jabbed ruiz, ruiz who is shorter and needs to be closer to anthony joshua to punch. Anthony joshua who is taller with a longer reach and has been in many fights knows you do not get in the pocket with a shorter fighter, Immediately anthony joshua knocks down ruiz, he knows ruiz will be out if he maintains the range and punches, he decides to get inside the pocket with a shorter ruiz to get knocked down, something that anthony joshua has never done in all his career to be in a pocket with a shorter boxer, wake up fools, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/msWSjJOG0ZyyYnU.html
