I had no idea there were such beautiful places in Ohio. Each spot was more beautiful than the last. I felt like I was on the movie set of something like Jurassic Park or Avatar in some spots. If you're looking for a vacation spot with some beautiful hikes, you have to check out Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio.

- KINGSLEY NORTH -
Kingsley North is a lapidary store in Michigan's U.P. They make a great cab machine and sell many other brands too. They have a huge selection rough rock, tumblers, grit, jewelry supplies etc. at good prices. I buy most of my coarse grit from here in 45 lb. bags. It's the best price I have found. If you buy using the following link, I make a small commission.

This is the cabbing machine I use:

- THE ROCK SHED -
I buy a lot of lapidary supplies from The Rock Shed. I don't make money from your purchases there, but they have good prices and good service. This is where I buy my finer grits and polish.

I also have an Amazon storefront. This is where you can find other products you may have seen in my videos. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It doesn't cost you extra.

On Michigan Rocks you can join me on relaxing rock hunts in picturesque Michigan. I'll also show you how to polish rocks and teach you other lapidary techniques. New videos are posted every Friday and some Tuesdays. Subscribe now so you don't miss any upcoming videos!

Okay, Joe is officially the most adorable baby I’ve seen in a long while. I love how vocal he is. I was born and bred in Southwest Ohio. Hocking Hills has always been my favorite place to visit in Ohio. Thank you for sharing your family time with us.

I think Joe is pretty cute, but I'm pretty biased. I'm more familiar with northern Ohio, which is pretty flat and boring much like southern Michigan. I did know that the southern part was more hilly, but I had no idea there was anything this beautiful there.

Fantastic family outing - if exhausting! Thanks indeed for bringing us along. I'm so amazed I've never heard of this place, let alone never been here. Some epic geology. I'm imaging some enormous floods ripping through this already weathered and permeable landscape, tearing up the sandstone and carving these huge channels and waterfalls, dragging & tumbling some of those massive boulders & rocky fragments to their new resting places. Would have made interesting homes for ancient peoples. Quite wonderous landscape. Thanks for the experience. Your kids are a credit & lots of fun.

Gasp!....You're in Ohio! I used to live just north of Columbus, in Delaware. I loved living there, but was never a Buckeye fan. I bleed orange!

You're pushing the limits of what you can say in the comments here. I can't believe you mentioned the "C" place. You did redeem yourself in the next sentence though.

Thank you so much for the travelogue. With my handicap, that terrain is not feasible for me, but it was lovely to see and hear the waterfalls and birdsong.

I'm sorry you're not able to get around well. KZfaq does allow you to see some pretty amazing places, even if you can't go yourself. I can walk ok, but I'll never go to some places in far away countries that I can at least see videos of.

Cool spot, thanks for sharing! I love hearing the wood thrush singing in the early parts of the video. Reminds me of summertime in the woods.

The bird sounds were nice. I couldn't have told you that it was a wood thrush though. My wife and I took summer college classes about four hours away when we were first married. We stayed in the college town, but came home on weekends. Nancy took a bird class that summer and part of it was learning bird calls. On the way home for the weekends, she'd play tapes in the car. The narrator would say something like "This bird says "Tea kettle, tea kettle". Then there would be a recording of a bird going "tweet, tweet". The narrator could always hear something that I couldn't. I guess I'm not fluent in bird.
