Ride along with me as I check out one if the most fun trails I've ever ridden. The weather and trail conditions were ALL TIME as I checked out Armstong Connector and Corral trails in South Lake Tahoe.

Thanks for the shout out to TAMBA. This system is just one of thier great efforts. The up over from Luther pass is classic!. Tahoe Rim Trails rule!

I lived in Tahoma on the West Shore, used to ride this on a ridgid SS and it was so great

Still a super fun trail but it’s all burnt out now unfortunately from the Caldor fire. One benefit from it is we get to ride earlier in the year because it’s exposed so the s ow melts faster. But I’d rather have the trees back.

I have ridden here many times, and have ridden all over. Used to write for Bike. YES, the Rim Trail, Hole-in-the-Ground and Tahoe generally is tied for #1 on my all-time favorite places to ride.

I used to work as the rental bike mechanic for Kirkwoods bike park and we would do after work shuttle rides on Corral and sometime we would add the Armstrong connector. By the end of summer I could tell you every line, every rock and ever divot on that trail. I even did an unintentional night ride without lights one night and got through it by memory.

That’s awesome that you got to hit those trails one of the few times of the year that there’s grip! Usually it’s dry dry dry beach sand mixed with kitty litter and add some marbles in for good measure. That said, Corral and Armstrong are two of the funnest in the area for sure.

lol I've been riding the lower sections for a couple months, debating hitting the upper part this afternoon. It's late september and it's still bone dry up there.

I rode some trails around Lake Tahoe, near Homewood/Tahoma area, back in '95. The trails were epic then and now they look even better now, so rad. Thanks!

I helped build that trail! Looks like it may have been rerouted in places. I didnt see the log rides or rock airplane turns we put in. Glad it got on youtube.

For sure! I should ride it more-I live in North Lake Tahoe and we have some super fun trails out the back here so sometimes the motivation to drive the hour south is lacking. TAMBA is amazing though, they do such a great job with all the trails in the Tahoe Basin! Glad you enjoyed your time out here. Cheers!

I've probably commented on this before, however, I'm wondering if this trail still ranks up in your top rides. I will say you rode it on the most perfect conditions. That trail tends to be a bit of a sandbox in the summer.

you can pedal up a road, or run a shuttle. just park or ride all the way to the gate. A must do. the local trail group "tamba" does endless work on these trails!!

Oh, description says EVO SS. I get horrible motor noise from mine. Do you? Do you correct the audio somehow?

I run the Evo SS. It makes motor noise that's way more noticeable when I'm NOT riding. When it's actively working it's quieter.
