Nostromo has been recovered by the transport ship Anesidora and is in the possession of the Seegson corporation at Sevastopol, a trade space station orbiting the gas giant KG-348 in the Zeta Reticuli system. The Weyland-Yutani team, consisting of Amanda, Samuels and senior executive Nina Taylor, begin their approach vector aboard the cargo and passenger ship, Torrens, crewed by its captain Diane Verlaine and her navigator and telecommunications manager, William Connor. After a failed attempt to establish radio contact with Sevastopol, in which they only receive a warning message full of static from colonial Marshal Waits, head of security at the station, indicating that they cannot receive passengers and due to the lack of clarity Given the situation, the team decides to approach the structure through a spacewalk, but, just a few meters from reaching the airlock, an explosion causes the guide cable to be cut and the team is separated, leaving Amanda as the only possible survivor.
