I don't know what it is with your vlogs Jamie!!! But I so dang loooove them!!! To be honest we are not reading the same kind of books, but you so much motivate me on reading books!!! I really love your vibe!!!

Jamie I love your reading vlogs! I started watching your videos back when it was all fitness related, but I love this new vibe you have! You continue to inspire me no matter what you do🫶🏼 Also the Poppy War series is one of top book series of all time and it absolutely broke me. It ripped my heart out and shred it to pieces (but in a good way if that makes sense? LOL) i feel like i need to hear your in depth thoughts about the series and the characters because it was A LOT

same!! it makes me happy to see authors I know acknowledge each other☺☺ I felt the same way about the whole Cruel Prince triology, but I ended up falling in love with Jude!

I have the darker shade of magic series to read. I have had it on my TBR shelf for a while and for some reason I just keep putting it off. I need to grab it and read it.

LOL I did this too! Then realized I needed to read a whole other series haha oops

yes, when i'm into a series, i don't refer to the blurb on the back of the book anymore :)

once you’re in, there’s no need!

The Burning God broke me too and firmly cemented R.F. Kuang as an auto-buy author for me. Currently holding off on reading The Fragile Threads of Power because I really want to re-read the Shades of Magic trilogy first. I read those books as they were coming out, so it’s been a few years and I’ve probably forgotten quite a bit.

RF Kuang is 100% an autobuy author for me now! Just need to read yellow face and then I’ll be all caught up with her books :)

Omg I love how cozy your vlogs are, they feel like a warm hug. It motivates me to keep reading too (I recently had a reading slump but I found a good book and now I can't stop reading). I finished ACOTAR by the way! I bet you don't remember, but I read it because of you. I don't know if I'm ready to jump into TOG (because of how long it is), but I'll get to it eventually! (By the way, the book I'm reading is "This Woven Kingdom" by Tahereh Mafi, she also wrote the Shatter Me series that I'm definitely reading now. I really recommend it, it's a very interesting world, and even though it's slow at first, when things get moving, you get addicted)

Great vlog again! I hope you're fully recovered after the Poppy War series- definitely a hard-hitting one! If you enjoyed the more complex style of fantasy and are looking for more epic fantasy recommendations, I would highly recommend the Nevernight series, the Gentleman Bastard Sequence, or the Grace of Kings (Dandelion Dynasty series, which is another Asian-inspired epic fantasy series that is one of my top top series) Books for sure do something to us though, especially when they're good, or you've just finished a long series- I always feel like there's a hole in my chest when I'm done, which stays empty until I manage to find another good read to fill it back in again :)
@jaimefok7 ай бұрын
Thank you so much!! I will have to check out all those recs, they sound great. UGH YES, when you’ve stuck with these characters over a span of multiple books, and then it just ENDS… it really does feel like a hole is left in your chest. Esp with the gigantic series like TOG, HP etc!
@chloeplummer98987 ай бұрын
@@jaimefok heheh I literally just finished a reread of HP and the book hole was… intense…. Actually got the inspiration to reread that series from you so thank you so much!
