The one minute pause was for Chester(LINKIN PARK), it's just a beautiful but really heartbreaking one. I remember singing this song along with 42000 fans at Yafuoku Dome back in 2018 and I still remember how emotional it was and the massive crowd were just incredibly synchronized. It was totally amazing.

It is a lovely idea and Taka has always said he was an inspiration but they were doing the pause in 2017 before Chester's death.

LOVED the reaction! The long pause at the beginning was a moment of silence for Chester from Linkin Park (This happened shortly after he passed away) -- Chester was a HUGE inspiration for One Ok Rock so that was in honor of him which also explains the crowd's silence (along with just japanese manners). Also important to know, Taka was actually REALLY sick during this concert and said his throat felt like it was on fire the whole time. Unbelievable how that turned into one of the best live performances I've ever seen, period.

I call Taka and his voice The 4th Instrument. His vocal range and control is seriously unreal, especially for a modern singer.

To me, this was a perfect video. From the dramatic pause, the crowd singing, the lighting and lasers making it look like it was raining, and then Taka's insane vocals. So emotional.

I'm 77 years old and from America. One OK Rock is my favorite band. The road to how I discovered them is strange... Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej -> If Me Not (also from Thailand and a band that does great covers of OOR songs). I saw them in the US during their Eye of the Storm tour. Another Japanese band I like is Radwimps. My favorite singer is Hua Chenyu from China. It would be great if you did a reaction to Chenyu. Search the videos of this amazing performer. He has so many great songs (he even does a live cover of Radiohead's "Creep"). I'll leave to you to choose one. You won't be disappointed.

Enjoyed your reaction & looking forward to more OOR reactions! Speaking of well-known ballads, OOR has several. As a start, recommend "Pierce" and "Wherever you are". "Wherever you are" has been on the list of Japan's top 10 wedding songs even though OOR is not in mainstream Japanese music. The vocalist Taka wrote "Wherever you are" for a friend who got married. There are many concert versions of this song and each version is different in terms of variations in live performance. But check out his earliest version from 2012 or earlier - ONE OK ROCK JINSEI X KIMI TOUR Wherever You Are.

This song is about Taka's relationship with his parents. They separated when he was in his teens. He had arguments with his father because his father who is a singer himself didn't want Taka to follow the same footsteps and hardships he had. Taka ran away from home and it took a few years before he finally able to prove himself to his father after OOR's success. He and his parents have since reconciled and they have a good relationship now.

@@Devilfamilly bro you don't need interview/explanation from the artist to look something for the meaning of the song.. just read the lyrics. "I don't want anything in this broken home" "Not the picture of us on the wall" "Still remember a time when you feel like home" "You were my life, now you're out of my life" "I'm singing for you, you're screaming at me" Etc The lyrics itself is talking about divorced/broken family.. and we know taka hasn't married yet, and his closest people that had been divorced is their parents.. and the lyrics said still remember a time when you feel like home, as we know taka did walk out his home and sleep on restaurant cos their parents divorced... So??
