Martina's career numbers are simply staggering (actually Chris's too). Tournament wins 167, 177 doubles tournament wins, 2189 match wins. There should be no goat talk without these two involved. PERIOD.

Martina helped save my life as a little boy simply trying to figure out how to be me. I will remain forever grateful for her courage, talent and presence.

I really love this Chris Evert interviews. One thing that hurts WTA now is the issue of top players treating the rest of tournaments as only warm ups for grand slams, and most of the time, pulling out of the other tournaments. I wish they learnt from these two to treat all tournaments with respect and speciality that they deserve.

Because I was captivated watching a match between you two, I was able to battle the challenges of growing up in a drug and gang infested neighborhood and I taught myself to play. Your matches would leave me breathless. Thank you Chrissie and Martina.

It was so similar to Magic and Bird. And it had the same impact on the sport as they did. Something transcending took place because it had both the rivalry "and" the loving, respectful friendship. So special. It still does something inside me when I see them in a program like this. It's alll that a fan of the sport can hope for when then watch. Even when you weren't playing against each other, tennis was special when you guys were a part of it. Monica Seles was the only other player that gave me that same feeling. I can understand Martina according to her past in the Czeckeslowakia pretty good. It must have been very hard not being able to visit your parents for years and years. Thank God that the time of the (fuckin') Sovietunion has gone. The Czech Republic is a beautiful place today and very nice people over there. And Martina is so lovely and she has a big heart! All the best for her and for the legendary Chris! So beautiful!

These two are the very definition of sporting legends. For me, they'll forever be the best tennis players.

Such a great interview!! Two of the all time best! So wonderful to learn more about Martina's challenges during her upbringing in the Czeck Republic and how close she was/is with her family. These are things we really are never privy to as fans. It's also wonderful to see all the love and support Martina received from the other top tennis players and the amazing relationship these two have developed over the years. As a lesbian and foreigner she faced many more challenges than other top players on the tour. It's nice to know that she felt supported by the others.

I think these champions are incorrect about their own fearlessness. They were were much more fearless than the current generation. The current generation have nothing to fear. In the 60s 70s and 80s these women and the original 9 put it all on the line. I know because I was there.

I think Martinas 74-match winning streak is another record that will never be broken. If anyone today pulled that off, they'd pretty much win every tournament in a calendar year (which Martina practically did).

I love both of these legends. At first I was an Evert fan and after the 81 Open final when the crowd applauded Martina for her effort and what I saw in Martina’s eyes was a beautiful soul. She had an athletic exterior and what’s inside is a warm, sensitive, wise, woman who I’ve admired ever since. I’m so glad both women discovered their cancer on the early side.

I have learned so much about all these different tennis players.... (I binge watched all the episodes and of course left the best one for last!) I never knew how hard things were for Martina. What a life she has lived, some of it very difficult and quite sad. Martina Navratilova is my ultimate tennis player and I feel like this is the first time I have gotten to know her as a person. Quite interesting to note that Chris Evert and Martina had such an intense rivalry on the court, but it appears they have a very caring and unique friendship off the court. I enjoyed watching this immensely 👏👏🎾🎾

What an opportunity to see these 2 greats having one on one. We will never see another women's rivalry like Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova in a hundred years. More often then not, both this great champions will meet in the final and their head to head stands at 43-37 in Martina's favour. Both are the leading winners of WTA singles titles in history, with Martina at an astonishing 165 titles and Chris at 157 titles. Both have 18 Grand Slam titles each, with Chrissie's career spanning from 1971 to 1989 and Martina from 1973 to 2010. Hypothetically speaking, Chris would have won 28 Grand Slam singles titles had Martina not been around ( Chris lost 10 GS finals to Martina ) and likewise Martina would have won 23 GS titles had Chris not been around ( Martina lost 5 GS finals to Chris) Their rivalry spanned nearly 2 decades and there was never a moment when there was any animosity between the two whenever one lost to the other in the final. More often then not, these two were the only ones remaining in any tournament that they competed, and one would console the other in victory and defeat. Martina always wears her heart on her sleeve but Chris never threw a tantrum. What role models these two are....miss them and love them to bits.

I started watching Wimbledon with these ladies. No one watched tennis but me. I was 10. I would beg for that time with the TV morning. It was MY time. After that, it got in my blood and now at 50, I just watched Barty and Rafael when The Aussie Open. Chrissy, Martina, Steffie, Pete, etc..... Always a part of me and great memories. Thank you.

This was a great interview. It felt MUCH more natural than the "30 for 30" episode they did a few years ago - Chrissie has really stepped up her TV game of late. And I LOVE listening to Martina; she's so warm and funny. The thing that she mentioned about not having had social media and therefore no direct connection with the fans is such a 2-way street. I was always such a died-in-the-wool Evert fan that I always rooted against both she and Evonne without ever knowing anything about them. Now I love hearing from both of them. I'm really enjoying this series. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you for the interview. There could be a documentary done of Martina and Chris, how they came into tennis and then became rivals. Also how they became friends. Facinating how the women on the tour supported Martina during that difficult time. Also interesting insight of Martina about the press coverage. I was one of the people watching and wondered why there was so little info about them at the time. Thank you both for all you have done for women. When filming or interviewing Martina please make sure that her camera is set slightly looking down on her (this avoids the double chin thing for women).

These two are best buddies and crack up whenever they're together. They both had to keep it more under control for this interview (good job Chrissie) and just be more professionals about it. Love these two!!

I grew up watching their matches. Greatest rivalry. the 85 french open final and 1982 Wimbledon final among the best. Both were great because it showed Martina forced Chrissy into having a net game.

I'm embarrassed to say that I'm old enough to remember when Martina defected from Czechoslovakia, her post-defection weight gain, those pinstriped Ted Tinling tennis dresses with the wide navy lapels (I had a poster of her hitting a backhand volley on my bedroom walls--and a Billie Jean colander), and Martina calling herself a "chicken head" in exasperation during a Wimbledon final and Bud Collins talking about how she'd picked up on American vernacular. To me she is the GOAT.

Without a doubt the greatest rivalry in history regardless of sport. They built the whole interest in the game ( with BTK, support) for women's tennis. The girl's today don't know their debt. What's most amazing is how they ups and downs in their relationship, but despite the fierce rivalry that came out of it as truly great friends. What made it great is they respected each other and the end of the day it came out pretty even. Both 18 grand slams and they were within 2 or 3 matches in 80 of the total record against each other. Both are class acts and kept pushing each other. They need more of that now especially in the Women's game where no one can keep it together for being champions.

This was when the world was truly right! These two athletes/humans are beyond class, loyalty, talent and respect.

I must say "the big 3" rivalry is the only one that gets close to Chrissie vs Martina. But the chemistry between these two champions goes beyond the courts, the media, and the marketing... it feels so human and effortless, something inspiring we don´t get to see that often these days.

Big fan of both. Different styles. Both had that killer instict. Steffi Graf is my all time favorite. Serena is the greatest womens player of all time. These 2 have so much respect for each other.

I remember being in junior high and watching Martina play. My aunt who knew I was gay long before ever coming put gently hinted Martina was in a relationship with a woman. It struck an emotion that drove me to play tennis, it was my escape and to see someone like me play at that level, be accepted (for the most part) and publicly stand proud got me out of bed numerous times when I felt alone. I continue playing tennis with my partner today, not so much a serve a volley game like when I was a teenager. The tennis court was where I found my confidence and most importantly learned I was like able, and to love myself. I don’t know of a professional athlete today that is at the same level that is a role model for the young LGBTQ community like Martina.

My favourite tennis player of all time when I was started playing at seven years of age tennis was the love of my life I just haven’t played for a while but I’m hoping I can get back into it because the only time in my life where I really felt like myself sometimes depression sets in and I can’t play

Martina was spot on. During the 70's to the early 2000's Grand Slama counted less than they do now. Players were ready and looking to win every single tournament they entered as everyone was chasing that year end no.1 ranking. Now people can literally only show up for the GS and everything else is seen as warmup tournaments

MARTINA AND CHRISSIE!!! Martina, THE GREATEST TO EVERRRRRR PLAY THIS SPORT! 167 SINGLES TITLES! 177 DOUBLES TITLES!! 15 MIXED DOUBLES TITLES!!! Folks, THAT is 359 TITLES!!!! Almost unimaginable, but it IS Ms. NAVRATILOVA! She truly did it the HARD way...serve and volley game, with missiles being fired by Chrissie, Steffi, Monica and others, as she charged the net! WOW is all i can say. So, no disrespect to Serena or anyone else, but MARTINA NAVRATILOVA is the GREATEST of all times! AND THAT IS A FACT. Look at the numbers..Martina PLAYED EVERY EVENT (Singles,doubles, and mixed) of the tournament and WON the majority of them. And a she didn't get an extra day to REST between the semis and finals at the US OPEN like they do now days. Anyway, you get the point.
