Because if he runs and loses the Republicans will (as Stephanopoulos mentioned) gain the house and Senate majority. Also, did you see the extremely disappointed attitudes of those four individuals shown just after the end of the interview? They all want Biden to quit.

I think they were really stretching to give him the benefit of the doubt and also - they kinda did report on it. But then people like Kamala would get interviewed and go gee golly he's sharp as a tack, don't know what you're talking about. And the media has finally snapped. All of the patience is gone and I'm sure a lot them feel dumb for not ringing the alarm bell harder. But like how would they? Everyone has already said plenty about his age. But his performance at the debate was just such concrete proof his brain is far from all there now.

Donald Trumps father died from Alzheimers, and Trumps mother had dementia when she died. There are numerous of clips of Donald Trump showing clear signs of real dementia. He confused Nancy Pelosi with Nikki Haley when he accused Nikki Haley of not providing enough security on the capital on January 6th. There are clips where he is not aware of which city he is in, and there are clips where he still believe Obama is the president. But somehow Trump gets away with this, while people are constantly picking on Biden. If something bad happens to president Biden he has got a very able and young Vice President to assume office, so the country is not in any danger with Biden. With Trump it`s a completely different matter. He has NOT named a VP, and the Supreme Court just gave him full immunity for all of his crimes. That`s dangerous.

@@trestres236 I scrutinize each candidate and call it like I see it. Personally, it annoys me how Trump exaggerates and sometimes even lies. I wish he'd just stop tooting his own horn and really listen to what the American people want. But his policies are far better than Biden’s and there is no denying the country is in much worse shape now - in multiple ways - than before Biden took office. Trump is like that high school teacher who could be very supportive but also tough. When he issued ultimatums, you didn't mess with him because he just might follow through on his threats. That's what our country needs in a leader. Not a delusional old man whose weakness has been displayed to the entire world.

My father has Dementia. 95% of the time, he has absolutely no idea that anything at all is wrong with him. If you ask him, much like George was trying to ask Joe, he will tell you that he's never been better. He truly does believe that. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. The worst days, the days that break my heart, are the days he is actually clear-headed, and he is painfully aware that something is very wrong. Joe is in denial. We clearly just saw that. It's not his fault. That's just how the disease works, but his wife, family, and cohorts are absolutely evil to continue this farce when they should be protecting him.

I, too, have two close relatives with cognitive issues - and I don't see Joe as being the same. He's just old. NOT all 80-somethings have dementia. They just don't talk as quickly as younger people. It's psychological. As children we are taught to be quiet in library's. President Biden speaks very softly and quietly as he has gotten older.
