The MTA should be held accountable since they're still allowing fare evasion to occur. I doubt that this homeless suspect paid $2.75 to get into the subway system and most likely jumped the turnstile. If you stop fare evasion, you mitigate crime in the subway. It's that simple!

Blame the legislative branch, the mayor's office, the governor etc.. for changing the laws and making it less a priority to prosecute fare evasion. The MTA had hired new security guard to deal with such.

25% = 90% in nyc. Imagine how much money it costs the city dealing with crime from this one particular group? Crime drives away businesses and people with the financial means to leave. You end up with poor slums. The same thing has been happening in large cities for generations and will continue for generations. All you can do is "GET AWAY FROM THEM" !

The claim Subway Crime is down. Maybe the Stats are being fixed. Maybe people are bein discouraged from reporting crimes tht take place especailly crimes that take place on Subways.

I think it’s about time for the government to invest in modernization of the metro rail system. Like installing a walk-through metal detector and platform screen door. If they cannot afford to do that, I think the city government should hire security guards and deploy them in every entrance and check every person’s belongings with a metal detector wand, like in my home country w/c is belong to a 2nd world country.. NY is going to be the worst city in the world after 5 yrs or 10, when it should be the most beautiful and technologically advanced city in the world bc NY is the business centre across the globe and US is supposedly the 1st world country but the cities in the US came the last ỉn terms of modernization and lack of safety and security.
