Yes I know that Oda based Bon-chan & Franky off of Jim Carrey’s characters but I never thought that he would play Bon-chan because while I don’t have a particular actor I want to play him I would want someone who has experience in ballet dancing so that way we can have Okama Kenpo in the live action

Bon-Bon is one of those characters the life action CANNOT afford to get wrong, otherwise the fanbase will be disappointed. It obviously has to be a man with the looks, costume and wild character down. At the end of season two, Bon chan has to have turned from the most out of place villain into an odd ally for the long run.

It probably wouldn’t matter a whole lot, but I think it’s works better if bon clay is played my someone’s who’s male. One of the main things for bon clay that I think would be essential is that bon clay in the anime/manga is a man who is queer and dresses feminine and fights like a dancer. I just don’t think the same kind of energy would be there if a woman played the role.

New actors and cheaper one will help them in the future

To be honest, I can't picture the entirety of the Skypiea and Water 7 Sagas in one Season since Skypiea, Water 7 and Enies Lobby are all longer arcs than Alabasta which we will likely to spend nearly half of Season 2 in. I think it makes the most sense if each season focuses on each Saga in the story for example: Season 2 Alabasta/Baroque Works Saga: Reverse Mountain Arc Whisky Peak Arc Little Garden Arc Drum Island Arc Alabasta Arc Season 3 Skypiea Saga: Jaya Arc Skypiea Arc Season 4 Water 7 Saga: Long Ring Long Land Arc Water 7 Arc Enies Lobby Arc Post-Enies Lobby Arc Season 5 and possibly 6 Summit War Saga: Thriller Bark Arc Sabaody Arc Amazon Lily Arc Impel Down Arc Marineford Arc Post-Marineford Arc Season 7 Fishman Island Saga: Return to Sabaody Arc Fishman Island Arc Season 8 Dressrosa Saga: Punk Hazard Arc Dressrosa Arc Season 9 and 10: The Vs 4 Emperors Saga: Zou Arc Whole Cake Island Arc Wano Arc Season 11 Egghead/Elbaf Saga?: Egghead Arc Elbaf Arc? But to make longer Sagas with less arcs feel longer, they could focus more on other characters in certain episodes like Skypiea focusing more on the Gorosei, Doflamingo, Kuma when we first see them at Mariejois during Jaya after Crocodile's defeat and more focus on Blackbeard and his crew because if Koby and Helmeppo got as much screen time as they did in Season 1 than so can the Blackbeard Pirates. And for the Dressrosa Saga, they can spend like 2 episodes in Punk Hazard and milk like 6 episodes of the Dressrosa Arc in the colosseum tournament and the other 4 to 6 episodes of the purge game Doflamingo creates after Usopp knocks out Suger. The rest of the series could fit into the format I suggested.

There is a group called "Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo", which consists of all male performers skilled in both ballet and comedy performing ballet in drag. This might be a good place to invite people from to audition for Bon Clay? There is also Rex Wheeler/Lady Camden who is a drag performer with a lot of ballet experience.

My mind is telling me that they might have someone non binary to do Bon Clay. But I personally want Jim Parsons to play him because he has a sense of flamboyance when doing characters like Sheldon Cooper and Buddy the elf. And just so you know, David Dastmalchian is 48 years old and Galdino/Mr 3 is 37 year old. So Jim Parsons is who I want as Bentham! :)

Bon Clay is a man and should be played by a man.

I think given his age they can keep Jim Carrey as Tom if they want to keep him. Jim was the inspiration for the character of Franky so casting him as the mentor of Franky might be good references and given he technically has less screentime it won't be expensive.

I personally would love for Robert Sheenan to play Bon Clay. He's 36 so is a little over the age but not too much and his performance as Klaus in The Umbrella Academy leads me to believe he could embody Bon Clay perfectly. Oh and if you hadn't guessed I think Bon Clay should be played by a male, he is a queer male and it would mess up his and Sanji's fight in Alabasta if he wasn't played by a male.

The actor should definitely be male. That is how it is portrayed to us in the manga/anime. It would be a different character all together if it was played by a female imo. I understand that he is gender neutral or whatever, but we all still say "him" not "her" when we talk about the character. Dont be stupid and let a female play this character please... Then we might as well have zoro played as a female too

You cant just think about arcs as the same considering how many would fit into a season Having the whole romance dawn saga in one season is not the same as putting the entire wano arc + whole cake + zou + dressrosa + punk hazard into the same season Its just not gonna happen Sky island by itself will be 3 episodes minimum from when we enter the white sea and that would leave only 5 episodes between Jaya, LRLL, water 7 and enies lobby which the latter might also be extended to 3 with all the stuff happening after we return to water 7

Bon Clay would be played most likely a genuine gay actor. Bon Clay is easily one of the best characters in One Piece. lBGTQ community are gonna praise that character.

I rather they just cast new actors and give less big people a chance. They may bring something new to the table instead of stuff we've already seen from the big names. Exception is Jamie Lee Curtis for Dr. Kureha but I guess thats not happening since she'll be on the other side of the world filming Freaky Friday 2.

Erick Christian Olsen would be a good choice for Bon Clay. He played Jim Carrey's character from Dumb and Dumber in the prequel and actually looks a lot like him and has his mannerisms

They will never hire such expensive A list actors. Even Henry Cavill would be great as Smoker. They will definitely be very costly to hire. OP already has a huge issue of production cost with the amount of crazy locations, powers, etc that needs to be added in future. Season 1 was nothing compared to what is coming next. Imagine the cost of Enies Lobby, Marineford, Dressrosa arcs. If u spend a major chunk of budget on just hires, then obviously what will happen is either implementation of poor props and CGI or just omitting scenes left and right. We already know how they had to omit one of the most important characters itself (Hachi) in Arlong Park just to reduce work and cost of CGI. This will get worse in future si very sure they will never hire such big actors ever. Also, new actors need such platforms. None of the current Strawhats were such big stars before this. Bentham is much too complex. The greatest actors play some roles as if there was no tomorrow. And literally, there is no tomorrow for some of those roles. The odds that the spirits that influenced Oda to make those characters that can embody said spirits are gone. Sure there's a chance. But dang, remember the general pop canon about JLC as Kureha? And then they come uo with F*Friday. Yup we can't take much more of it. I'm sorry if some would actually think that Bentham should be portrayed by a female. While it is true that Bentham is non-gender-conforming. But it is not about that. It is about the character being physically male, and is referred to as he/him by Luffy and Oda himself, before being just "Bon-chan." Iva calls (him) Bon Boy. Jinbei refer to him as him. Buggy and Mr. 2 call him Mr. 3. It's true he may stray from being a man, and also a woman, but he tries his darndest not to stray from being a human. That human that showed exemplary friendship and self-sacrifice was, to many's eyes, a man. Not trying to be offensive here, but people think of him more as a Mister, and casting a biological female in the role of Bentham isn't entirely wrong, but it likely to fall under pretext. Sham from Syrup can't be a for-instance here, as far as we know the Nyaban Brothers did exist in live action but they're not brothers, and the narrative requirement was still fulfilled. If a female plays Bentham, seriously higher expections are to be demanded. Bon chan is that loveable okama guy, after all. Do we have news for Ms Double Finger, Monday, Merry Christmas, and Goldenweek? On the other hand, John Cena as Franky came as a surprise. John Cena's a really good actor too, and I think he might be able to show a sensitive aspect that he conceals poorly with a cool manly man aspect, that's needed with Franky. I don't know though, if he can commit to such a family. If he can, and if he does...that'd be, pun-intended, SUPER. We need the whole WWF/WWE showbiz ubermensch swagger but without the ego.
