It's the same for all Namco Bandai Games recently. They are just ok, but do the bit extra to be amazing.

They could always separate into multiple entries. Like how the Legacy of Goku series did. Split into 2-3 installments if need be.

You start as Luffy on the boat and are taken aboard the cruise ship. Then you come out of the barrel and begin combat with the Alvidia pirates. You beat them very easily and then you get a small boat as reward *like the anime* (This would be kind of a like a tutorial) Then you are free to travel to where ever you want. You have a super rough map of the entire East Blue. And essentially you need to travel to each island to figure out the next part of the story. Maybe after getting the boat it would be like "Find the Marine Island Base" but other than that, it would let you explore as much as you want. *maybe having encounters at sea, or maybe not. Since they seemed super bored almost every time they were at sea. But once they found an island all hell broke loose.* Then once you get to the Marine Island Base, it would start the main mission Zoro arc. Then you rince and repeat for the rest of arcs. But the part that makes it fun, is you take the boat you got and you travel to islands and encounter things maybe they didn't in the show. Or you even find those exact islands they encountered and fight the same people. Either way, each island would have it's own unique side mission quest. Kind of like the filler stories in One Piece. Maybe you would meet Buggy, or find the Old Bush Man trapped in the chest. Or find something we didn't see in the show! So much they could add to the lore even though it's through a game, that just exist in the world it's self. Another cool thing too is like, maybe for gameplay wise. Each person of Luffy's crew gives a special bonus. Usopp being the ship "The Going Merry", Nami being able to unlock a full map of the East Blue or something. Maybe you can swap Luffy for Zoro in a fight. And maybe have a system where damage doesn't get healed unless you rest or eat. So Sanji would make it so you can heal at sea or something idk. Seems fun and cool to me. Then maybe the end goal of the game is to "Enter the Grand Line" and to do it, you need to find Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Nami, and complete their main story arcs. Which unlocks the Log Town story arc. Then even though that would be the end of the game once you enter the Grand Line, maybe they could release expansions like Alabasta arc. Where it has Drum Kingdom, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and all the other things they encountered and did. Which it could be a same system of main story objectives like "Follow the log pose to get Mrs.Wednesday to Whiskey Peak". Although idk I feel like it would get stale. Just an idea though :D I like your idea a lot lol. It sounds like a really fun game.

Yeah I agree. A lot of people aren't really taking the game for what it is and it's not fair to it. Which is why I agree with this review so much. He points out what the game is trying to be and other people are just complaining that it didn't include what they wanted. I loved Nier: Automata so much and world seeker is kind of like a reskin of it, but slightly more lively and friendly to play. I have my own flaws with the game (snipers being hella annoying, not being able to pistol someone even though they can shoot through railing, and some characters randomly being thrown in like Kizaru and Sabo without fleshing them out more into the story) but it's still a great game. In my opinion, not being able to explore areas outside of the missions and chests isnt a fair argument because pretty much all games are like that unless you have Easter eggs lying around. You can just complete what you have to and enjoy the view. I love the world for what it is and I love the game for what it is. I love sniping people in the heads, picking off enemies and using arnament mode to fill my gauge and using conquerors haki to take out/stun everyone around me. The game can be clunky at times, but it doesnt make it unplayable. Missions could've been improve on, but overall the story is a great fit for a filler arc. I've been binging it for a few days trying to collect everything I can (with the exception of treasure maps because they are tricky to come across), complete every mission and explore everything before the story ends and I'm like 30 something hours in game time. I'd give a solid 7 so pretty similar to the review, but it's not a bad game at all. It just didnt live up to everyone's expectations of what they wanted in a One Piece game.

Their are more moves like the dash moves and the jump attacks how in the attack mode you do a whip attack and in the other mode its a front flip kick.when you dash in the red mode you can do like a couple hits i notice with the charge into the oppent than your elephant gun i think punch and knocks your emeny forward heehee been having fun sending them into the water and cheesing it.the dash attack for the blue mode is just a quick punch so its good to dash attack than 3 hit combo and finish it with your jet gallet. Plus the blue mode have the skill to do multiple takedown in a roll.its funny how the red mode have a takedown.luffy all quite than thor hammer some dudes haha.

I just did. Bought it for 29 bucks, still feel ripped off... Having played every One Piece game since PS1, I can confidently say this is the worst one to date.

I think the best thing to do is see it as a template and maybe they will make a second and take the feedback from the first. Presentation is already solid so it really just comes down to some of the mechanics and RPG elements which I think they could definitely do too seeing as they probably have a lot of assets they can use for a new game.

Unless Cyber Connect makes the next one, I'm personally done with One Piece games.

I dont think its biased to give it a bad score. Its probably an ok game for 15 years ago. But in 2019 this is a major dissapointment. It's not that is has issues because every game does. But it has problems that should no longer exist. Theyve been solved in countless other games over the years. No excuse to have non-voiced cut scenes or barren open worlds.

He can tell that there was love thrown into this game. The negativity about the game is more disappointment as opposed to just being mad at a bad game. It had a LOT of potential to be something really good but tripped at a few points along the way. He isn't wrong with giving it a C. Any One Piece fan out there can play this game and have fun enjoying it for what it is. If you're not a One Piece fan you won't be as connected to the characters involved but it doesn't mean it's unplayable. I'd say if a World Seeker 2 comes out and they polish up the combat, give some more VA work in the dialogue and reconsider a few minor decisions, like the music, outfits, numbers and mission variety, then it would be a pretty solid anime game. As it is right now I'd say a C is fair.

Unlimited World Red is not 95% voiced. A lot of the game has characters say something like "Nanda?" and then a text sentence underneath that you read. The cut-scenes are voiced, it's basically the same as World Seeker.

I know pirate warriors 4 may seem like "just a dynasty clone" but it actually nails one piece gameplay pretty well and differentiates enough from dynasty warriors to feel fresh, I recommend it
