At this very moment my son is addicted to this drug. He has been to rehab twice. Stays clean for a few weeks and then back to the streets to get his fix. I tell my son just one pill will kill you, and he says, not me. I hate it when my phone rings, is this the call that no parent wants to get. I keep praying that my son will stop.

You may correct me if I am wrong. As far as I am concerned a large part of the fentanyl drug components is contrabanded from Mexico and maybe other latin American countries. Is it not conceivable that all this is part of a war of attrition against the US, in connivance with the Mexican elite, in order to destroy the American populace from within to the core? The final purpose could be to regain the territory north of the Rio Grande lost in the war of 1845?

Hello all. I am a 59 year old Canadian man who worked for 21 years at the trade of Construction Millwright, I was working in the oilsands projects in Alberta at the time I started to be getting very bad pains in my back and tailbone area. It was sooo bad that upon waking one morning, I found I could barely walk. So I flew back home to Nova Scotia to find out I have spinal stenosis, X2 places, lower back and neck! I also found out I have what is called Retrolisthesis (tailbone issue). I never woke one morning and thought, today I will become an addict! I am an addict from taking my meds as directed from my doctor. I did not wake up one morning and decided to become an addict. I found out at the age of 45 I have what was called degenerative disc disease. After more tests and scans, I was then told I have spinal stenosis, coupled with Retrolisthesis in tailbones. I was on the spot described as a chronic pain patient. I have tried just about every drug for pain management we currently have. All, 100% of the drugs came with very harmful side effects. Lucky me. I was then told to get a new doctor as my doctor had accepted work in another province. I now found out about with drawls from opiates, I had to face it, I was a junkie with no fix for the day! Took 2 years to find new doctor and now am prescribed 120 pills per month! I never asked for this addiction, it was kind of forced upon me if I wanted to control/manage my new life with chronic pain. Some days I can not walk due to nothing but pain! Oh I also have asked for mental healthcare as so many pills were now being taken, and can not get mental health if my life depended upon it! P.S. Addicts are some times innocent folks with health issues and I am sure not one of these people asked to become an addict! If we are still asking where the real problem comes from, I can sum it all up in one word. GREED end of story. It is sad that I had to become a person with a handi-cap to learn all this. How can we fix the drug issues? Again an answer with one word, EDUCATION for free not to only the privilleged rich folks!

What you're describing doesn't sound like addiction, it sounds like someone who is dependent on taking his medication. Which many people with all sorts of different medical conditions are but you don't call them addicts. To me, there is a difference, but maybe it doesn't matter because it's a technicality and the bare facts of the matter is that you take pills every day and go through withdrawal if you don't. I still think it's different tho. I feel like a person who goes through absolute misery if they don't take their insulin isn't addicted to insulin, they're dependent on taking their meds. Just like a chronically ill person is dependent on taking their meds to go through the day. It's very sad that many people who have chronic pain end up taking illicit and dangerous drugs from the streets because they're over prescribed dangerous medicine and then then when things happen like a doctor moves away, there is no plan for continuing or tapering off the meds. Which is so dangerous because you put people who already have medical issues through unnecessary withdrawal.

Change will come with better education. Somewhere, somehow, kids have developed an utter lack of support, knowledge and discernment of the severe danger to them. What we see is nonchalance and normalization. The nonchalance could be do to the utter despair young people feel, the normalization, is a coping mechanism and the need to look “tough.” With full parental and governmental interference, education, dedication, and determination, we might be able to safe our children and our future.

In Spain, Italy, the Balkans, Poland, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, and many other countries it’s just impossible to find it, and those who tried to introduce it were dealt with immediately… so just imagine how dire the situation is, considering that some of the worst criminal organizations on Earth think this drug is “too dangerous to be dealt where we work”.

I came across Texas Production and watching I think just about all the stories. As my heart broke I learned something new with every story. I have a 19 and 15 year old so it really hit home. I did more research and finally was ready to have a real conversation about fentanyl very specifically as I’ve talked about drugs with them since they were young as I lost my sister to a Oxy OD 10 years ago. I was very contrived on how I wanted to address this topic with them. It was a successful conversation whereas at the end I thanked them for listening and staying engaged and my 19yr old son said “you went about it the right way mom”. Point of me writing this is to tell all those parents/families you have helped me and my family with the knowledge or being woke about this very important topic. Would you charge that kid that died with murder had he lived? because almost everybody I know that does fentanyl sells it to friends at one point or another it's just a fact. Be careful what you wish for. Prosecution is not the answer, have the last 40 years taught us anything? Like all people, I interacted with the good, bad and ugly, but God was always there for me, to help others. Always write down what you spend, and do not be greedy and stingy, and help non beggars on the quiet. I am not from the US and i watched several documentary about the fentanyl problem. The point that is shared by all of them is the need for medication but because of the absurd cost of medicine, people go to shady dealer that sell you the medicine you need that is probably laced with fentanyl becoming a recuring customer or dead. Just this point is for me absolutly GLARING...the amount of damage because of counterfeit pills. I am from the EU i pay for anykind of medicine i need between 5€ to up to 10€ MAX thats between 5,28 US-Dollar and 10,57 US-Dollar...the rest is covered by mandatory healthcare.

There are so many grandparents raising grandchildren or even great grandchildren in my community (and so many others). I spoke with a grandmother, who was raising her daughter’s 9 and 2 year old children, it breaks my heart how much her daughter’s addiction is wreaking havoc on their families lives. Since my state has legalized possession of drugs, irreparable harm has been done to families, communities, and mental health. It is nearly impossible to get services for a loved one. This grandma’s hands were tied. She tried rehab, but her daughter checked herself out 4 times. She tried having her committed but the hospital released her. It’s no longer illegal to do or possess drugs, so the cops wouldn’t help. I decided right then and there, that I will not lose my children to addiction. If they ever became addicted to drugs, I would do whatever it took (WHATEVER IT TOOK) to bring them back. Wouldn’t you? It is time to fight for our loved ones on our own! Never stop praying for your loved ones. If you had to tie them up or lock them in your basement, to get your loved ones back from addiction would you? Would you risk Jail to free your child, brother, sister, mom, dad, husband, wife, or grand children from addiction and give them a future?
