At 50:30 the function u defined is not continuous at 1

I have doubt in last option. Q[x] /(x^3) is isomorphic to Q×Q×Q, so first and second option will be wrong

No u cannot use the fact of Chinese remainder thm here...x,x,x are not coprime ...your assumption held if we can use that thm

The given ring is a field, and a field can't be the product of two ring, as products of two ring need not be the integral domain (hint :- (a, 0).(o, b) =(0, 0)
